funkymonkey66
So I woke up this morning in tears and couldn't move my left wrist or fingers. The pain woke me up out of a sound sleep it was so intense. I don't know what I did- I didn't fall, I didn't twist anything- I can't explain it, but apparently my Dr. told me today that I must have done it pouring so many candles. I'll admit I've been really busy over the past few weeks but I've never sprained or torn tendons in my wrist pouring or carrying wax in 11 years!! lol I burnt myself enough but nothing like this.So now I'm in a brace and overloaded on advil typing with one hand. He said I need to baby it for a week and if it swells anymore or turns red I need to come back. Sheesh.

Dana
I feel your pain, literally! I have had this in the past. I think it is a form of Carpel Tunnel JMO, but it seems to have the same symptoms. I pour 6lb pots and after several weeks pouring I do have to take it easy. I am not a very strong person so all the weight goes into my wrist and hand. Hope you get better soon! Stella1952
I hope the doc considered gout and pseudo-gout...
Ravens
Has the doc done any type of diagnostic test like imaging studies and blood work. It is swollen? Can you move any parts of the affected area? is the pain localized or does it spread? Dull, sharp, throbbing, constant? i just hope he didn't dismiss your s/s lightly. Good luck and get better soon :-)
Faerywren
I have a rare form of rheumatism that started like this. Felt fine and normal one day, next day crippling pain.I hope you feel better soon!
CathyinME
Sounds like tendonitis. Cortisone shots will help if its not getting better with rest.
funkymonkey66
Dragging this back up, and haven't really been posting too much since it happened. So I found out a few month back that I do in fact have RA and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I'm pretty tough but this is for the birds. Now it's in my feet and knees. The drugs are tearing my stomach apart and really not doing much for the pain. I just kind of deal with it until the specialist gets me on a medication I can handle. On a better note I'm going to Disney Tuesday, pain or no pain and if I need a wheel chair to get around the park I'll just move through the lines faster lol It's a win win. HorseScentS
So I woke up this morning in tears and couldn't move my left wrist or fingers. He said I need to baby it for a week and if it swells anymore or turns red I need to come back. Sheesh. It sounds like carpal tunnel syndrome. Any tingling or burning sensations?I highly recommend Noni Juice to get rid of the inflammation and pain. It really really works. I buy the BioHealth Noni Juice from the pharmacy, it's next to the liquid vitamins and liquid cinnamon, "Cinnatrol." It's between $13.95 and $19.95 per 32 oz bottle, depending on if it's on sale or not. Most pharmacies carry it. I take one 1 oz shot glass full in the A.M. on an empty stomach, and then one before bed. Some people take it at noon also, but twice per day works for me to relieve even severe pain. Just give it time. It's amazing how well it works for any kind of pain or inflammation, arthritis, injuries, etc. Edited August 26, 2011 by HorsescentS
LadyJo
Really sorry to hear about the RA Ravens. I feel for ya. I have Psoriatic Arthritis which is no fun either. I hope the doctors can find some meds to help you with the pain. I take pain pills daily. Some days it helps... some days it don't. Hang in there. And I hope you have a wonderful time at Disney !!!!Jo
funkymonkey66
Thanks : )Noni Juice, never heard of it, but I'm open to anything at this point. My wrists are not an issue anymore, they get stiff but nothing like the feet and knees. Kind of puts my treadmill days behind me until I get it under control.I have a stomach issues, everything bothers me, so does this Noni juice taste awful, or cause heartburn or anything like that? Noni is a fruit right so I'm guessing it probably tastes pretty good. It's gotta be better than the stuff they gave me that had 3 pages of side effects. Death being one of them lol I think that's a little worse than limping. Pick your battles right?
