AlwaysWondering
I'm looking for very bright candle dye, would love a bright turq, neon green, bright orange, etc. My eyes are crossed looking at suppliers. I hate to just order one thing from Lonestar, I don't use anything else of theirs.
EricofAZ
You can make your own hot pink by mixing either 2:1 or 3:1 yellow/red.Dunno about the other colors. I did just get some turquoise blocks from candlewic and I'm pretty happy with it (but need to go light as it tends to effect the wicking when used too strong). Stella1952
You can make your own hot pink by mixing either 2:1 or 3:1 yellow/red.Nope. But you can make orange that way. Here's links to some color wheel charts and color theory. They might help you decide what dyes to order to make your own version of "hot pink."http://realcolorwheel.com/3colors.htmhttp://www.color-wheel-artist.com/primary-colors.htmlYou can download a color wheel here as well as charts for tints and hues.http://www.color-wheel-artist.com/printable-color-wheels.htmlFound this suggestion for mixing your own hot pink...http://www.blurtit.com/q494052.html Edited March 18, 2011 by Stella1952
EricofAZ
Stella, you're dead right, I have the ratio reversed.2:1 or 3:1 Red/YellowI'll have a photo tomorrow. It helps to have a creamy white wax to start with. Edited March 18, 2011 by EricofAZ

debscent
Candles & Supplies pink dye will make a bright pink. One drop per lb produces a nice pale pink, 4-5 drops will give you a bright pink.
pcbrook
BCN has Hot Pink liquid Dye! Not sure if you shop there.

Scented
You know, Lone Star's hot pink is great. So is their spice pumpkin. Can't get you to neon green though.
carol k
I use MCs liquid dyes to make a bright/neon green like that is on a Gain laundry soap box. I part green, 2-3 parts yellow.
nursenancy
Candlewic's Evo pink dye is definitely Hot Pink to me.

AlwaysWondering
You are all great. Eric, I must say that red and yellow does make orange regardless of ratios and your photos do look orange to me. But I give you high fives for effort:yay:Thank you so much for the other charts, love those!, and sites to find hot pink.
EricofAZ
I held the pie tray one up to the monitor and its not the same. I agree it looks orange in the picture. I went back and pulled one of my floaters that I sent out in the valentine's swap and there's no hint of orange, but the pictures I just took do look orange. Indoor lighting issues maybe.I think the floaters used a slightly higher red ratio, but not much. 3:1 red/yellow or maybe 4:1.
Scented
The floaters I got were red and brown. No hot pink.
EricofAZ
I agree there has to be a blue component to this. My CMYK calculator suggests 2:1 Magenta/Yellow. Not a perfect hot pink, but maybe one that can be mixed easily.
EricofAZ
And here's 3:1 Magenta/Yellow
Scented
See deb's post. Now that's a hot pink. Yours are mere experiments falling way short though you have an interesting victorian rose color with your magenta and yellow combo. B@BlissStreet
I use Magenta liquid dye from J&L. The top layer was mixed using only a few drops of dye; it is my favorite liquid dye...very versatile as it can make a nice light baby pink all the way to a deep fuschia.
