Candybee
Anyone have a suggestion for a great pumpkin scent for soap? I hate having ones that discolor to a yucky brown.
Scented
Yeah but that's what you're going to get, brown. Course you can add TD. I soaped Lonestar's Butternut Pumpkin and it browned, even with TD, mashed yams and carrots, but oh baby, oh baby, oh it smells good. Kitn
I have not found a great pumpkin scent that doesn't brown, my customers don't mind that the soap is brown.
LuminousBoutique
havent found one. I'm really happy with a pumpkin spide soap I made with pumpkin puree, nutmeg, clove, and small amounts of cinnamon.. but it is pretty light in scent because I'm super careful with the cinnamon. The one I think smells the best, imo, is WSP perfect pumpkin. But yes.. dark brown.
Candybee
*sigh* Thats what I was afraid of. Had some customers at my last show who were terribly disappointed I didn't make my pumpkin soap. Said they come to my booth every year just for the pumpkin soap. I told them it turned brown and I had trouble selling 'brown' soap even pumpkin and they said they didn't care what color it turned they loved it. So I guess I may go back to the pumpkin I was making. Wonder if vanilla stabilizer would help?!
RWV
I've been using vanilla stabilizer from WSP with my pink sugar fo in M&P and it's keeping it more pink than brown. I've got some pumpkin pie coming from OT later this week and plan to try VS with it.
