To bevel or not to bevel

I use to bevel every bar. It took alot of time and in the end, I had a ton of scraps that I couldnt figure out what to do with. It really a matter of personal preference. I dont know about anyone else but by the time I was done beveling, my bars looked alot smaller than the unbeveled bars.

ok i used to have that problem when i was using a potato peeler, now that i have the actual beveler i take three swipes on each side, hardly lose any soap, love the beveled look, cant stand the rough edges!

I too bevel some and not others. Some I don't bevel because certain batches will trace faster and when they come out of the mold, the tops are so uneven that they won't go into the beveler and not all sides can be beveled. I hope that made sense. I would have to shave so much off to get it to bevel that my bar would be alot smaller than I want.
