Daves'sHomemade
Is there a recommended length of time before you should cover a newly poured candle container. I know you should wait something like a week before you burn, but how long before you should put lid on. I am referring to paraffin wax only. Thanks! deb426
I usually put the lid on after it cools completely. Maybe a day or two after pouring.
candlelady
As soon as I cut the wicks the lid goes on. That's normally 4-5 hrs. after pouring. Then they go on the shelf or in the order boxes.HTHCarrieI use 6006.
Candybee
I lid my candles after they have cooled and hardened. I usually wait for them to cool, them trim the wicks, then lid them, then label and box.Also-- there is not a specific time for curing candles. A lot is gonna depend on the type of wax and fragrance combo you use. I use a parasoy wax blend and the majority of my candles take about a week to cure. However, some cure in as little as 24-48 hours and a few take up to 3 weeks.
CatlinPM
I usually wait until the candles are completely cool but I have also lidded them when they are still warm with no problems. Just don't do it when they are still liquid!
Daves'sHomemade
Thanks all! I was just curious....if the candle needed to cure prior to lidding the container. Then my thought was how could it cure if the lid was on, since no air would get to the wax. I will go with a couple of days for now. Thanks Again for the responses.
