charlottesmom
I wanted to get Print Master 18 Platinum, but I've read some have issues with it not running on Internet Explorer 7 which is what I have...Any other suggestions? I'd like to use the Avery labels, if that matters. Thanks, Becky
Dana
Ya, I have PRINTMASTER GOLD but I also had the 18. Both of which give me headaches! It is great when it does what you want it to do, but certain things I can't get to work. I am looking to switch but it will be a lot of work. I was thinking of trying Print Shop. Anyone have any input on that one?
charlottesmom
We had Print Shop a good 10 years ago and I loved it, but I never made labels with it, just futzed around with it, making what would today be considered ancient looking cards for my family. I'll do a search on amazon and see what the reviews say.
beekeeper_sd
Print Shop is wonderful for paper applications, not so much for labels. I make all my brochures, letterhead, catalogs, business cards, etc. with Print Shop and those turn out beautiful. The nice thing about it is that, once you get one thing perfected, you can make any number of items by simply importing. The biggest problem I have found with Print Shop is that it is not completely compatible with other print programs. For instance, I have a Primera 400 label printer that I cannot get to print from Print Shop. I also use Avery label design (not sure of the correct name) to do a lot of my labels but there are a lot of things you can't do with that program. Like, I have never figured out how to "flip" an image. It's pretty limited in creativity, more of a cut and dried template-type applicatoin.I also use the software that came with my Primera to print those labels. It's a little more forgiving than Avery but still not as Print Shop. My biggest problem is that I created my own logo and name graphic so I have a lot of problem with it not "fitting" the mold of most graphic applications. (Make sense to anyone?) Basically, I don't think there is one software application that will work for everything. You'll just have to keep looking until you find one that works. Fortunately, software is not that expensive anymore so you can try a lot of different things.Good luck!
RetroMetroChic
Avery has its own label making program called Design Proyou can download it for free at there website. Then you have to design the label etc.. Still not super easy.. I wonder if there is a program that has some good looking predesigned templates?I try but I am just not creative enough to make a good label
thesoapbox
I live by my Printmaster program. I don't use it online so no issues for me. I was also able to find some really cheap templates that I purchased for the size of bottles and jars that I have. They were a God send and worth the $3 each I spent on them I finally love the labels I am using! Two examples:I'm not that great at photos but you can get the general idea Angi
8-GRAN-ONES
Label Factory Deluxe 3 is good..but I don't know if it is the best...
RetroMetroChic
Hi Supar Star Those look really good. I'm trying to get a background like that behind mine.. If you don't mind I ask where did you find the templates... I've tried and tried to get good looking labels I swear if someone designed some nice looking bath and body templates with nice backgrounds etc I bet they could make a fortune.. I know I would pay for something that looks professional and all I need to do is type my business name and product details. I am going to look into the printmaster and the label factory deluxe3 Thanks for the advice Ladies!! I want my labels to look good, I was considering trying to learn how to use Adobe Illustrator so I could put nice flowers in the background etc.. (but Wow I downloaded the trial version and I think it may take me a year to figure out how to use it)
Starr
I use DesignPro and Microsoft Word 07. They haven't steered me wrong yet and I've found that I'm able to make some pretty decent looking stuff. I did a few designs for someone here and I'm waiting to hear back on the final proof.
thesoapbox
I purchase templates from here:http://www.freiscavell.com/She has her labels listed with pictures of the actual jars and bottles which is EXACTLY what I was looking for. It helped me in so many ways.My label is actually my logo that I had someone create for me so that was very easy too.I do have 2 fragrances (Hippie Daze, Groovy Patchouli) that I am going to make labels for that are 60ish with bright colors so that will take me a bit since I won't be using my logo.Angi
Candybee
I switched to Avery's Design Pro. You can download for free. My labels are much better now and it is so much more versatile than what I was using before.
Blossom
PrintShop Pro Publisher. I've been using this program for 8 years, so obviously mine is 8 years old. Works wonderfully. My only 'beef' is that the images provided are Broderbund copyright, which means you cannot use them for labels. But it is easy to import your photos and mess around with them. I have done all of my labels with it for years.HTH
southern.scents
I use Scrapbook Factory and I love it. Every once in a while I will have issues getting them to line up but I think that is user error. I actually have PrintShop20 and I have never even installed it...go figure. Here is a post where I have pictures of the labels I designed using ScrapbookFactory.http://craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=73699Scrapbook Factory is one of those super easy to use programs that has the features you need. If you are looking for something that has more power but is still pocketbook friendly, check out Serif.com . I have been using their DrawPlus program for years now and I don't know what I would do without it. I actually just purchased five copies for my annual staff and we are using the software to produce all of the pages for our annual. Here are some of the pages I and the editors have done so far:http://www.wpconlinedesign2.com/2009/edit/UserFiles/5500/115811/SavedPages/Hi-ResPDF/Hi10032891.pdfhttp://www.wpconlinedesign2.com/2009/edit/UserFiles/5500/115811/SavedPages/Hi-ResPDF/Hi10032877.pdfhttp://www.wpconlinedesign2.com/2009/edit/UserFiles/5500/115811/SavedPages/Hi-ResPDF/Hi10032842.pdfhttp://www.wpconlinedesign2.com/2009/edit/UserFiles/5500/115811/SavedPages/Hi-ResPDF/Hi10032841.pdfhttp://www.wpconlinedesign2.com/2009/edit/UserFiles/5500/115811/SavedPages/Hi-ResPDF/Hi10032830.pdfhttp://www.wpconlinedesign2.com/2009/edit/UserFiles/5500/115811/SavedPages/Hi-ResPDF/Hi10032821.pdf
