Pilljill
Just wondering if you guys have noticed, if changing a fragrance name, makes a difference in your sales. I like to be creative and rename a lot of mine. Like....for Claire Burke to 'O'Clara' and Apple Jack Peel to 'Peel That Apple Jack' and some I like to rename for my grandchildren, etc....Tangerine Dream to 'Tango Tali". Your thoughts/results would be appreciated. Jill
mizbizzyb
Every market is different. Some people wont buy something they can't relate to...however if you are using catchy names when you rename them that is a draw in itself. In my opinion (it is great when someone wants opinions on this board).BTW - It seems you are renaming them to catchy names so I say go for it. evesorto
My daughter (13 yo) and I were discussing this yesterday. She was commenting on how even though Y***kee candles don't work so great, they do have cool names (for Halloween).I happened to be making Celtic Moonspice (Aroma Haven) and she exclaimed, "You should call that 'Full Moon Spice', Mom."I have to say, I think the kid has a point.Eve
Pilljill
Thanks for your responses ladies. I am considering printing a fragrance chart to put by my display, noting the names and descriptions. It wouldn't take me long to zip it out on the computer. Candybee
I do it all the time. If a fragrance won't sell I try renaming it. Its amazing what a name change can do.I like your ideas for catchy names. And I love your daughters 'Full Moon Spice' name. Now that sounds much more interesting! Darbla
I happened to be making Celtic Moonspice (Aroma Haven) and she exclaimed, "You should call that 'Full Moon Spice', Mom."On a similar note, it had crossed my mind to refer to it as 'Celtic Moon'. coconut
It seems to have worked for me. First I called Home for the Holidays, "Christmas Time" and colored it light green. Dud. Colored it red, called it Spruce 'n Spice, and now it is selling. Go figure.
sisterkaren
It works wonders for us too. We rename a lot of the fragrances we get in and have renamed some that were not selling and amazingly they did sell after the name change.
