  1. Don't know if you would consider making the beads into the ornies or not...but that is what I do. Living in Texas, it gets very hot inside the car. I have never had a problem with melting and such. Just a tip though, if you decide to make the aroma ornies, be sure they are thick enough and also punch your hole for stringing far enough from the edge. This will lessen the likelihood of melting. I have good success with these. I sell them for $3, but you may be able to charge a little more.
  2. Sorry, I forgot to mention that little problem...I use E-6000, I get it at Walmart in the craft section where the glues are, like Tacky Glue etc. Using this to glue the magnet on, I haven't had a problem. Hope this helps. Jill
  3. Just a bit more....you can put a magnet strip on the back of these, or double-sided tape and they can be used in a trash can, under the sink, in a diaper pail, on a filing cabinet, etc. My grandaugthers like the magnet for their lockers at school. I hang them in my closets too and even put a few on my Christmas tree and they were pretty and smelled good too.
  4. I make the ornies and they are a hit. I sell them for $3 each. People here seem to like them, as they are different than the cardboard ones, and they last quite a while. Here in Texas though, you need to be sure to make them thick enough, because even with the caution tag on my packaging, they like to use them best in their cars, and the heat might melt them if they aren' thick enough. I have never had a complaint. I just finished a large batch tonight.
  5. Same here! I did make some ornies today, but I just can't seem to get in the mood to make candles. I think I work better under pressure sometimes. And that is just around the corner! Pam, I too think Santa's Workshop should be something fun. I don't know what wax you are using, but some peppermints, little toys, or elf imbeds might be cute in the candle. Jill
  6. Dana, Just wondering if you were able to create a blend for this or if you found a supplier that has the true fragrance. Jill
  7. pomegranate, orange, cinnamon, vanilla...(midnight pomegranate) How about 'Midnight Promise' sandalwood, musk, amber, patchouli, cinnamon...(sexy sandalwood) 'Exotic Expectation' lemon, jasmine, vanilla, lily....baby (philosophy) : was thinking "Oh Baby" 'Daydream Desire'
  8. Dana, I too, like Aromatique's 'The Smell of Christmas'. I have tried several FOs to no avail. I mixed this up and it is pretty close: Peak's Amish Harvest 1.1 oz, .6 oz. of BCN's Fresh Squeezed Oranges, and BCS's Spicy Vanilla (Closeout FO) .6 oz --to 2 lbs. of IGI 4794, for clamshells. You could tweak it a little if you think you needed to. I know if you don't have these, it is a pain to order from 3 suppliers, but at least all three of these fragrances mix well with other FO's to blend unique scents. Hope this helps. Jill
  9. Love2Scent, Did you look in the craft section also?
  10. Thank you all for your input. I will try this weekend and let you know how it turns out. Jill
  11. Has anyone ever changed the color of their aroma beads after they have already dried? I just used the last of my beads last night and I need some more navy blue ones. I thought I might try to add some navy dye to my light blue beads. My only concern is that it may change the fragrance since they are already dry.
  12. Way to go Gabbie! Those look yummy. Have fun and good luck to you. Jill
  13. Thanks for your responses ladies. I am considering printing a fragrance chart to put by my display, noting the names and descriptions. It wouldn't take me long to zip it out on the computer.
  14. Just wondering if you guys have noticed, if changing a fragrance name, makes a difference in your sales. I like to be creative and rename a lot of mine. Like....for Claire Burke to 'O'Clara' and Apple Jack Peel to 'Peel That Apple Jack' and some I like to rename for my grandchildren, etc....Tangerine Dream to 'Tango Tali". Your thoughts/results would be appreciated. Jill
  15. Thank you Darbla and Grama for the replies. I will investigate!
  16. Does anyone know of a FO that closely resembles this Aromatique fragrance? One of my favorite Christmas scents.
  17. Thank you all for your ideas and responses. I appreciate it. I may try ONE more time with it and mix 4794 with the v1. I will probably just make firestarters though, as I need to continue pouring my candles and tarts with my other waxes. You know, the holidays will be here before we know it! Trying to get stock made up.
  18. Moonlithaven, thanks for the info. Just curious, what was the para/soy blend you came up with? I probably will do the firestarters, as you all suggested. I am just too tired of testing with this.
  19. I thought as much Jan. I only used paraffin for alot of years and decided to try soy. It was only AFTER I purchased the wax that I found this board and another, to discover I wasn't the only one having problems with it. Now when I want to try something new, thankfully I have a place to research and ask advice. Thanks for your reply. PixieWick, the reason Jan said that is because it is so difficult to work with. No matter what I did, I would have cracks, sink holes, etc. In doing a search on this wax, you will find the same problems with other users. I love to make candles, and I don't want these kind of problems....there are too many other waxes that one can use and not suffer through all of that. It costs lots of time, money and your sanity, when there are other options out there. Thanks for your response.
  20. I have been searching the threads, but haven't found what I am looking for. As many of you know, through your own experiences, this wax is the pits. I am trying to figure out a way to use this up in some way. Has anyone mixed either paraffin or a container wax, (I use IGI 4630) with this for successful results. Any suggestions on utilizing this wax would be appreciated. Thanks. Jill
