Swirled Square Pillars

Recommended Posts

This was my first attempt at swriling. They are cinammon vanilla.

The cinammon was colored with cinammon liquid dye. The vanilla was not colored.

I let the wax cool to 120. Using palm wax. I think it should of been cooler.

The pictures are all 4 sides of each candle.

Any suggestions to get a better swirl?

Thank you. I think I'm going to be doing these and ice pillars for a while. Then I need to try some tilted ones.

This is why I love making candles and soap (even if it is melt and pour). Just about anything you do will work somehow.

Looks like you have been having a lot of fun! Nice job! :)

Be careful about cooling the palm wax more before pouring... it solidifies quickly! We pour palm mottles between 185°-190°F. Palm wax is challenging with which to work, but we enjoy the unique effects one can achieve with it.

You will have a lot of fun tilting palm pillars! :yay:

Yes, cheat! :D (for the swirls)

The stuff takes awhile to set doesn't it? Not so sure, but if you can keep the bottom open, you can slash color into the wax using a chopstick if you want. (course taking a guess as I have no palm to play with)
