Cupcake Candles

Recommended Posts

I want to start learning how to make these as well. I have searched the net and did see some sites with some great looking cupcakes! I don't have a clue how to make them though or how they should burn.

Does anyone here make these? I would like to buy one that is made properly, so I at least know how they should burn. I am still unsure if they are supposed to tunnel down or if they are to be burn in something snug enough so when it runs over it is confined in a container. ??

The few that I made were small--@ 2 x 2.5 about the same as a real cupcake. I had no problem wicking and getting a complete burn without a major tunnel. I just don't have a market for this kind of candle, but I make one every now and then for my niece cause she loves them.

If it does not tunnel, what do you burn it in to keep the sides from spilling over, etc.? I have heard that some uses dishes but they look too shallow and not snug around the cupcake. This is where I am confused. Not sure if there would be a market for them here either.

I use pillar wax for mine. I line the cupcake tin with cup cake papers and pour into them. Honestly I have burned hundreds right in the cup cake papers. Have not had one paper burn . The papers are made to withstand oven temps ..sooooo. Give it a try and see what you think.

I have sold many of these and this is the way my customers burn them also.

Love the awesome picture!!

Where do u find the molds? Oh, I see u use regular cupcake tins, but how do u get them to look like the picture.

Cupcakes seem to be a trend right now, in bakerys specializing in them only, knitting them also. So I thought I would try them soon. I don't have a mold.

Any info. would greatly help!:D
