Hi, my name is Sandy. I've been in the craft scene for a number of years. Starting out sewing crafts, then into decorative painting on wood. Now since you can't find a candle that smells nice when it's burning, I've deceided to try my hand at making my own. I Just found this message board, so I've been taking notes.
The message board is great!!!! I bought a candle kit and really don't know where to start. Well that's a little about me. I'm from Mississauga, Ontario Canada.

  2. Thanks for all your replies Stella, I'm gonna try your idea....pouring a little bit into a votive cup and see which one comes out easily, and which one sticks.
  3. Thanks for all your replies Stella, I'm gonna try your idea....pouring a little bit into a tealight cup and see what falls out and which one sticks.
  4. Now that you brought up the subject of soy or parrifin. I've used both in the past, so it could be either. AuntieS
  5. Boy, I haven't been here in awhile. Lots of new names. Haven't made any candles in awhile either. Make lots of tarts though. Just a couple of questions..... Does anyone make their own tea lights. Is there a certain kind of wax to use. I've never made them before...I've always just bought them. I use alot of them in my tart burners so I'd like to make my own. is there a HPT wick I could use. I have 2 two presto pots with wax in them...one is labeled with the type of wax, the other is not ......is there any way to tell what type of wax it is. OK, that's more than a couple of questions. Hope someone can help. OK, I found some of the answers to some questions doing a search. yeah, I should of done that first. But I still don't know how to figure out what type of wax is in the other presto pot
  6. Here is one, it's about an hours drive from London, On in a small town called Sparta. They have warmers but they are not cheap. I don't know where you live, but they do a show in Nov. It's called The Markham Country Decorating Show in Markham, On. HTH http://www.spartacandles.com/
  7. I have made the jars with the string of lights. I drill a hole near the bottom of the jar and feed the lights in that way, leaving just the plug in part outside the jar. And instead of using the doilie on the top, I use a smelly jelly lid (To drill the hole, you need a special drill bit )
  8. Oh, I just love prim stuff. Flicker, your things are awesome
  9. Thank you prairieannie, that is good to know. Now I won't be swamped in the fall trying to get everything done. Sandy
  10. For those of you who make room sprays, do you make them when you get an order for them or do you make them up ahead of time. Do they have a shelf live. If I was to do a craft show in November...could I make all my sprays now.
  11. Your fire starters look great. They are on my to do list
