  1. Does anyone know how to make a crackled pillar candle. I'm sure there must be some magical think to do to get the cracks all over the candle. Any ideas . . Has anyone ever made these. I can get my to crack if I forget them in the freezer when they won't come out of the molds, not the way to do it.
  2. Looks good enough to eat!! I've been looking for molds like that . . What site did you buy it from.? (you said candlegirl) I buy some things from someone on the board already and am very pleased with the products. Save me so much time not to have to make all the embeds myself. Hope you don't mind sharing!
  3. Thanks Candybee . I was considering the Ecosoya PB, I have a supplier close to me that carries it. I tried soy pillars & votives before and couldn't get them to burn right and they cracked something terriable.
  4. I would like to start making soy pillars for my store. I already do the rustic pillars but would like a smooth classic look of a soy pillar. Could anyone recommend a good wax that isn't brittle, won't crack ect ect ect. Tell me the results you get, how they burn, and what wicks work best for you, cost, and who carries the wax. Not asking for much am I Thanks so much for the help.
  5. Yes, it was a 50# box that was supposed to have been from the manufacturer. They thought candlewic was repackaging to sell under one of their own formulas. I still get my C3 from candlewic, haven't has a problem since. There's always been a label on the box after that.
  6. I know this is a old thread, haven't been on much lately. I had the same thing happen with C3 I got from Candlewic .. No label on the bbox that said it was C3. Called the company and they asked what color the bag was inside the box (blue) they said candlewic was probably repackaging the wax. Called candlewic and was sent another box of wax for free
  7. i have had some problems lately with cracks in my C3. First I use 12oz C3 & 4oz J223 w/1oz fo. I also use premier series wicks - usually a 745. Has worked like a charm for a long long time. Some candle will go out within a few minutes after lighting. They melt down in a little crevic, its almost like a air pocket, there is usually a crack across the candle-but sometimes there isnt. Can anyone give a suggestion on what I might try to stop this. Oh yea i pour at about 180
  8. NG hasn't stoped carrying the joywax. It might just be out of stock. I thought that at one time to, but was told that they take the pics off when out of stock and put them back up when its instock again. Hope this helps you.
  9. Anyone know where I can find this fragrance oil. I have customers requesting it. Any help appreciated. TIA
  10. The wick will be downsized so it will never get to the invitation, it will tunnel down.
  11. I really don't want to go dye free, I like the colors to much. I surely can't embrace the frosting. I don't get any mixing the j223 with the C3. I would just like to use one wax. It makes it easier to order and stock.
  12. Thanks Tootie . . It sounds like my same wicks will work, now I'm really excited about trying it. I just ordered a whole case. I usually never mess with ordering a sample when I hear good reviews about things. Can't wait for it to come to start to test. Do you have any problems with sink holes around the wicks or cracking across the tops?
  13. Islandgirl, do you use the C-3? I'm looking to try something else because I can't seem to get rid of the frosting, no matter how long I temper it they still creep back. I mix a little 223 with it and it's ok then, but 223 is getting crazy in price. What wick do you like in the CB adv, and could you give me a starting point for a 8oz hex jar and a 16oz apothecary. What wick seems to work for you with the 464. I think I will order a 10# sample today with the rest of my order. I have CD wicking in alot of different sizes. How would you rate the cold & hot throw with the CB Adv, and also the GB464? Thanks for all the help.
  14. Need some help wicking some wedding candles. I usually put glass cups in the top of mine but a customer has requested them to be wicked instead. The wick needs to be downsized so as not to burn the invitation that will be on the candle, The candle will be 5W x 9.5H. Can anyone suggest wick to use. The wax will be just pain pariffin with no scent or color. TIA
  15. Currently using C-3 and am looking to try other waxes. Any advice on the Golden Brand 444 and EcoSoya CB135 Advanced. What you like and dislike on the waxes, and if anyone has tried both of these, which did you settle on and why. Also a starting point for wick type and size.
  16. Thanks, I will check out tropical breeze
  17. I am looking for apple slices, rasins, walnuts, pecans, assorted fruits. mini cinna buns ect...
  18. Can someone help me with a good place to buy bags of wax embeds. Want them look real. Want to buy in bulk. Any help would be appreciated. TIA
  19. I have a customer that wants samples of my fragrances. That could get quite costly if I do melts, so i dont want to do that. Does anyone have a good way to do fragrance samples that would be very inexpensive. TIA Cyndi
  20. Stella 1952 has some very good reasoning. Without her I would have not heard of USA or coconut oil, using it in C3. Thanks again stella my candles have been coming out great.
  21. I use 1 tsp coconut oil to a # of C3. I found that letting it cool even at room temp that I get very good glass ashesion just like papaffin would give. The top are nice and level with no crack and the scent is there right away. So IMO it makes the C3 much nicer to work with. It almost seems like you have a one pour pariffin. I have also tried USA with it also (with no coconut oil) For me the coconut oil is a keeper.
  22. I wanted to try it for pillars and I was gonna try it for melts. I thought if it didn't work well I would try a little C3 with it.
  23. Just found out that FedEx doesnt pick up everyday there. They mainly use UPS.My wax alway ships out the same day I order it, I guess that was the day fedex picked up, but since my order was all fragrances it took longer since they all had to be poured. Now I know when fedex picks up so I can place my orders so I dont miss the pick up days.
  24. Does anyone know of a supplier that carries this wax yet. I did a search and came up with NuScent Candles that are discontinuning the P1. They allready have the P2. Any other suppliers that anyone know of.
