WTH do you people using Green Leaf 70/30 wax color it with?

Recommended Posts

The web site recommends a maximum usage per lb of wax - 30-40 drops..

OMG! Are you serious? You think that applies to other dyes than theirs? I practice restraint with dye because of the fuel smell when you use too much. I've been putting 10, tops!

I did get a sort of neat deep purple with 5 drops maroon, 5 drops black in my pomegranate candles. I'm going to refer to it as 'Forbidden Pomegranate' though that's not the FO I used. That just sort of makes more sense with the deep purple.

I've used liquid dye and blocks. But I've noticed it seems harder to get a nice color than with J50. I just switched to 70/30, it also seems to me, that the first 10# slab I had was nicer than this new batch. Anyone think that? The first slab I had no wet spots at all, and now with this batch I am getting a few. Any opinions on this?

Actually, I just thought of a name I like better for that deep purple: 'Persephone's Pomegranate', or maybe just 'Persephone'. If you know her mythology you'll understand the connection.
