lu244la
I have a small question, and I hoping someone can answer it. Some of my candles have an ugly top, I've read you can use a blow dryer or heat gun to smooth it. I've tried using a blow dryer and it just leaves my candle worse, so I went this morning to buy a heat gun, but I'm a little scared to use it. Will it leave my candle looking ugly?ThanksLudi
Pam W
No, just keep it moving back & forth across the wax
grama
When I am smoothing tops I always use it on the low setting so it doesn't blow wax every where and sorta just go around the outer part until all the top wax is melted. If you get to close to the wick, especially on to high a setting, it makes the wick turn sorta brown. hth
Rsvlbrat
Yeah, the heat gun doesn't have as much air blowing, it will just melt the top and once that sets, the candle will look nice. (I wouldn't recommend a blow dryer)hth
Crafty1_AJ
I agree with the others; ix-nay on the blow dryer. It just splatters the wax all over the place. If you don't want to use a heat gun, at least go with an embossing gun ... they are better than a blow dryer.
