kandlekrazy
Sorry if this was asked before.Does anyone know if there is a plastic wrap that you can cover candles with and won't pull out the fragrance? I need it for my tiny tasters which are 1 oz and 2 oz glass containers.TIA!
PurpleHippie
I located these using the search feature. I hope it helps with your question:) There were more but I think these cover it pretty well.http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=52211&highlight=polyprohttp://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53086&highlight=polyprohttp://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=54290&highlight=polyprohttp://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=49146&highlight=polypro
kandlekrazy
Thank you for taking the time to do these searches. I had already found 3 of these, I'm looking for more of a wrap than a bag...can't seem to find one with the 5, thought maybe someone else knew of something. PurpleHippie
I am not sure about this or if it was here that I read it, sure someone else will comment. I think someone had located a wrap sold at walmart/grocery stores that was ok to use. If I find it I will post again.
kandlekrazy
Thanks, I did find polypro "cello" wrap at Papermart that I can use with a rubber band if I can't find a stretchy one that will stick by itself.
Brenny
I have read on another forum that you can use the Glad Press n Seal. I haven't tried it but they said it wouldn't affect the scent.
kandlekrazy
Really? Thanks, I'll try it on a couple and see what happens. I've really been afraid to try just any of the food wraps.
littlebrownbug
Will Saran Wrap work for what you need? It is a cling type wrap....we call it stretch wrap at work....pretty much the same thing and it clings very well. I don't think this will affect the scent at all....but I've been wrong before. Just wrap tightly and seal with a heat gun(very briefly of course). That should work well I would think.....HTHSMike
dzeyez
The Saran wrap needs to be the original..Walmarts brand is good just make sure it's polypro.I use cello bags, they hold in the scent. I hope that helps!!!!
kandlekrazy
They say that all the food type wraps pull out the fragrance, so I haven't tried them. But I guess I need to just do it! I'm going to try a couple with the Saran wrap that I have and see what happens in a couple of weeks. I guess the only way to know for sure is to wrap one and keep one of the same scent so I'll know if it is getting weaker with the Saran. kandlekrazy
The Saran wrap needs to be the original..Walmarts brand is good just make sure it's polypro.I use cello bags, they hold in the scent. I hope that helps!!!! I think I'm going to just go with the bags as I checked out Saran on the web and it is made of: Saran polyvinylidene chloride or Saran resins and films. I don't want the life sucked out of my small containers! It appears that the only "Polypropylene" wraps are the cello type which wouldn't stick anyway...so it's bags or rubber bands to hold the cello wrap. I don't want to start shrink wrapping these if I don't have to.
Stella1952
Check out sources for polyolefin. It is more expnsive than PVC or polypro, but it does not absorb nor impart any fragrance. The stuff I have is food-safe as well. I know the ShrinkWrapStore has it and a few others...

judyvega
You could try this... It's made to Cling it comes in clear alsoThis product is made of polyethylene which is not good for holding in scent - polyPROpolene is ok.
kandlekrazy
Well, I emailed the Saran people and here is what they said:While specific ingredient information is considered confidential, I can share with you some of the ingredients used in SARAN™ brand plastic film with Cling Plus® and SARAN™ Premium. These ingredients are: · Polyethylene (PE) Plastic FilmI imagine all of the plastic food wraps are Polyethylene.
judyvega
What I am saying is that Polypro is the one which is recommended for holding in scent, not polyeth.
