rustic candles

I just tried the rustic pillars today and mine turned out somewhat greasy on the outside. I did not use any mold spray. Anybody have any suggestions?

IMO you might have used too much FO and mayby not enough stearic acid. I don't over load my candles with oil....usually about 3 to 4% is all. And about 3% stearic. I only get oily candles when making mottles that have way too much oil. Donita

I use 1.5 oz per pound. I have never used the sternic. I am new to pillars and I was just going by the instructions. I will buy some sternic and see if

that helps. Do you think the amount of FO I am using is too much for the rustic candles?

Cut back to 1oz pp and see how that does ya.
