maryann
What I need help with is the shape. I usually cut my soap 1" thick which is pictured, but its too big to turn in one's hand, should I cut at 1/2" thick or keep the 1" and cut the soap in 1/2 like a melon. If I cut it in half it'll weigh 3.7 oz and is comparable in size to my Mr. Do Right mold soap (see the pic w/ the 1/2 melon on top of a yellow soap). I'm not sure which would be more preferred sale wise. I appreciate the input and ideas. :smiley2:
wvcandlecrazy
I like the half slice, but would you mind me asking what scent it is?
tychels
I like the half slice too! It looks like a kiwi in the center, looks delish! What did you use for the mold?Sharon
firegirl
Ohh.. Maryann.. that soap looks wonderful.. I love big chunky soap! I wish you could keep it whole, but the half slices look great too!
CareBear
like a longer half-circle - 1" is ok, but 1.5 really makes me go
TexasBrat
Halves are just fine, what did you use as your mold?
maryann
WOW 5 opinions and 92 views ???Thanks for the help ladies :smiley2: !!! 1/2's it is.The inside mold is a pringles can. I made the inside soap and let it sit for 4 hrs, then peeled the can away and set it inside a Slim Jim can and poured around it to form the "rin". I CPOP'ed it to make sure they wouldn't seperate. Its scented w/ MC's Spanish Melon. I sure hope this scent sticks as its a spring/summer favorite of mine. The colors should have been reversed w/ the lighter inside, but I mixed up too much colorant for the amount of soap I had. This has been on my to do list for over a year. Next time I need to use a bigger outside mold so when I cut them in half they'll be just as big as my regular bars. I want to try this w/ watermelon and grapefruit scents as well .Thanks again for the help :smiley2:.
TexasBrat
Ya, you did it like I did with my m&p watermelon soap I did last year. I used a pringles can for the pink center and an oatmeal can for the rind. I did get a large bar but trimmed mine to halves so I could get the look of watermelon. I bought a round mold from Sherie that I haven't used yet but it makes a perfect size round soap bar.
elleah
Thats so pretty maryann! And I like the 1/2 too - I just can't get a good grip on a round soap although they look pretty.Lori
Scented
I'd do half like a melon.
diamondk
I would do half also and maybe you could make the halves 1.5 in instead of 1 inch.
