Bella Luna
Well, this is my first gallery post! I made these 2" pillars for a friend's birthday. They seem to have gone over really well, and it's the best burn I've got from the 2" pillars yet (no burn pics, sorry). They are kind of a rustic and mottled mix... the rustic part was an accident, and I don't know how it happened as I poured fairly warm into 'not cold' molds.http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a195/bernadette_/DSCF0586.jpghttp://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a195/bernadette_/DSCF0585.jpghttp://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a195/bernadette_/DSCF0584.jpghttp://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a195/bernadette_/DSCF0579.jpgLet me know what you think! cjrhsk
I think those are very pretty. The fo sounds yummy! I like how the two colors mix a little at the layer. Nice job. Congrats!

TwinMom
those are gorgeous candles....nice job!!! What size molds did you use for them?
Freezin
those are very pretty. I sometimes get a combo of rustic and mottled and it doesn't make sense either given the additives I used and the method of pour...but I guess that is the excitement of making pillars...LOL! warmvanilla
They look wonderful! Your friend will love them. The scent seems so perfect the way your candles are layered.

topofmurrayhill
I think those look really nice. The reason you got the rough finish is because of the small amount of wax in the top layer. When you do that it requires a hotter pour to get a smooth surface.Still came out good though.
Bella Luna
Thanks for looking everyone! I appreciate your comments twinmom: I used 2" molds, in 4.5", 6.5", and 9.5" heightsThanks topofmurrayhill for the tip... I hadn't even thought of that but I will definitely try pouring the top layer hotter on the next go 'round!

grama
Those are very pretty and I love raspberry - it mixes good with patchouli also. The 2" pillars are very elegant but I am scared of em!!!!
Donita
They look beautiful....and don't be afraid to play with pouring temperatures. You can achieve several kinds of finishes in one candle (if you want)....it is all about your own "art".....and you say they burn well......Congradulations!!!! You have the winning combination. A pretty candles that burns correctly. :highfive: :highfive: :highfive: :highfive: :highfive: Donita Louise
