The_Dallas_Texas_Dean
IGI 4630 is definitely soft and definitely one pour. Some oils throw well. I do not pour 16 ozers so sorry can't help with the wicking. I will say that you should wick on the "cool" side with this wax. Good luck. There is always the comfort blend if you want to mess with it. Personally I didn't think that the throw was "all that" when I tried it.....but I only tested 50 lbs. There are those that rave about it. DONNAMAC
I like the J50, It is pretty much a one pour with just a slight dip in the mioddle, but very easy to smooth out with heat gun or even hair dryer, since it is soft. Good Luck
Bea
I love J50. it has an awesome cold & Hot throw. The zinc wicks work best for me.
grandmaskitchen
I just purchased a slab of JS 50/50 and I really liked how well it turned out. It is 50% soy and 50% paraffin. If you are interested in trying something with a combination of both, this would be worth looking into. You can get this wax at Just Scents. Aspencreek
I use the comfort blend IGI 4627 and I love it. I have tried about everything else and have always been the happiest with the comfort blend and the throw that it gives both hot and cold. debscent
I use the 50/50 blend from Farm House and use CD wicks (Farm House suggests zincs, but I prefer the CDs personally). No dip, true single pour (if you pour around 160).
jillgunter
The 4630 is very bad for lots of soot, so if you are use to a clean burning wax, I would not recommend it. Its very hard to wick also, and in a large jar I had the experience of looking like a torch sometimes to get a full melt pool. I just started using the 6006 so far its got great hot/cold throw. Still has to be wicked up alot but none of the soot with the 4630. The 6006 is a parasoy, low on the soy side. I think it has 20% soy. bugtussle
I use 6006 and it has a great cold & hot throw. I much prefer it over 4630 or 4627. It does have some issues with certain containers, but can be easily fixed with a heat gun. I pour mine hot at 180. Carole
blazerina
I only do tarts and B&B but I've started using the 6006 (accidentally, lol) and let me tell you... this is some soft stuff! I was pretty surprised. Better though once it is melted down and cooled. Throw is also working well for me. It's a bit soft for tarts but I may just keep it and add an additive. I love the ease of cutting it off the slab!
