MommaD Posted September 12, 2005 Share Posted September 12, 2005 I wanted to make the crackle effect that I see on this site. I followed the instructions that I saw on a post in the gallery. I boiled the water, took it off of the heat source, dipped it in for 20 seconds, and put it in ice water. It didn't crackle, at all. What did I do wrong? The wax is 4625 wax. I don't know if there are alot that have, cince it's been introduced here not too long ago. Here are my guesses. 1) do the plunging more than once2) plunge a little longer. 3) PM Donita, whose attention is on tart molds right now lol, but it's her technique. I intend to try the crackling technique sometime this week, and I'd appreciate knowing all the "tips" just in case I also run into the above problem.
