Oriental Blessing

is the name I've given this one. It has a different Chinese character painted on each side, one for luck, another for prosperity, happiness, and longevity. Scented Asian Sandalwood (how original is that- not?).

Oh Mozzie....you and I are sisters.....I make candles that look just like that. I am not surprised at all. Very cool. I have done them in dark blue, hunter and red. The red is the favorite. I love yours. I wasn't using the stylus, but the next ones I will. I was trying to stamp them on with ink and then paint. I could hardly see the ink...the stylus is the way to go. I use the stylus to put on the shape of my birds and butterflies too. Isn't this fun???????? Donita

You really need a firm hand to do something so beautiful.

If I should try I know my candle would say "Unluck" in one side, "You're ugly" in another", "who knows this damned mandarin" in another and the last would say "pspspsppphhdhshfsshhsdhsfhsd".

You girls are just too funny. Thanks for being such a great cheer squad. I really chuckle when reading your posts. Sabrina, my hand is far from steady (although the stylus indents really help) so I dread to think what I'm really writing. I just trust that no-one who speaks / reads Mandarin will see it. After all, it's all in the intent, isn't it? Pleeeeze?

Yes, don't worry, it's all in the intent.

That's what I say when I give one of my candles to someone!!!!!!

Mozzie.....I am so lucky that my friend Kate on my flower board is Chinese....I have run things by her first and wait for her approval....So far so good. I always wonder too. It would be so easy to make a little mark that changed your intent. Maybe that's how wars are started....(smile).....hugs and kisses, Donita

....if you would share what kind of paint you use? I've seen similar ones, but they didn't look quite so good!

Pam

Sure thing, Pam. It's made by Chroma Inc. and is called Chromacryl, Students' acrylic Gold or Gold Dorado (it say's both "Gold" and "Or Gold Dorado" on the tube). I found mine in a craft shop so I expect that it's readily available in America. Good luck, it's a lovely gold.

Mozzie, that is one awesome candle. Love your painting talents. Love the FO. Perfect for your Blessing's candle. Since I'm the curious type, which is it - kick ass or ass kicker?

Er, couldn't we just say that it rocks :shocked2: or is that showing my age? LOL.
