SueH
I searched all through my local Joanne Fabrics for mylar to line molds with and couldn't find any. I was at Walmart yesterday and spotted it there. I got the extra thick Mylar. Just thought I'd share in case anyone else had trouble finding it.
jwahlton
Just make sure it's the NO MELT mylar. I've checked Wal Mart too and mine didn't have the NO MELT mylar, just the regular kind
lindsaycb
My Walmart looks at me like I'm stupid....they have no idea what mylar is.
magsglass
Just a head's up to whomever...Hobby Lobby has no-melt mylar.
Tara
Ok..my Joann's doesn't have this and we don't have a hobby lobby around here. Any idea on where else to get this?
xsami3000x
My walmart has the "extra thick quilter's template" stuff, doesn't say mylar on it anywhere, but it's got I think 6 sheets for the same price as one sheet at my Joann's, so please let us know if it melts or not.Sami
CareBear
what do you all use the Mylar for?
Tara
I am looking for it to line a log mold with. If I am not mistaken you can reuse these without having to line your mold with freezer paper every single time you make a batch of soap.
jwahlton
Yup, both my log molds are lined with this. I also use it in the bottom of my kelsei molds. If you're looking at JoAnn's look at each piece of mylar. At mine the no-melt is usually mixed in with all the others and you'll not be able to tell them apart except for the label
Tara
well, they don't even have any kind of mylar at the one I went to.
Carol M
My Walmart looks at me like I'm stupid....they have no idea what mylar is.Mine, too, Lindsay. They haven't a clue; I was looking in the craft section near the quilting templates, and asked the woman working there. I have a HL about 35 miles from me; guess I'll drive down there one day next week when I'm off from work. I love that store anyway, so this gives me a good excuse:cheesy2:
Melly
The walmarts in this area did carry it and then discontinued it, I got the last 4 sheets they had and havnt found it anywhere since (not that ive looked hard) sigh.
Tara
I just ordered some from Joanne's online. I would probably waste that much gas looking it anyway. I ordered 2 sets and shipping was only $5.95...just a thought for those who can't find it locally.
