lauren8479 Posted April 22, 2006 Share Posted April 22, 2006 I started to melt my wax and didn't realize the valve to the presto pot was opened! It went down my drain. I scraped what was dried in the part with the garbage disposal but what about what went down into the pipes? Should I pour tons of boiling water? I feel so stupid! dcroome2005 Posted April 22, 2006 Share Posted April 22, 2006 I have had this happen once. I boiled hot water in a teapot and ran it down 5 consecutive times and never had a problem after that. Plus my sink was still wet and cold so I think most of it probably hardened before it went too far. Thanks for your help I will try the boiling water. After the 1st pot, I noticed my drain was clogged. After it sat there a few minutes, I turned on the disposal. Water & wax shot out everywhere, so I shut it off. Breanna Posted April 23, 2006 Share Posted April 23, 2006 I have worried about possibly doing this very thing and what I did was went to wal-mart and bought 2 large plastic cutting boards and I cover my sinks,,,it has worked out well,,,I hope everything works out!!!!
