Getting a dark brown in Soy

Recommended Posts

One of the best dark browns (with out the permanent marker smell) comes from EVO colors. There are many other color lines you can get some great, very dark browns though.

Here's where you can get the EVO colors from http://www.candlewic.com/store/category.aspx?q=cConcentrated+Liquid+Dyes

You need to buy droppers for the tops though.

Funnily enough, I just made my first dark brown soy candles today to match my chocolate brownie fragrance.

Picture can be seen at:

I used liquid dyes from Bitter Creek - coffee-caramel brown, lots of black, and when it's looking a grey/brown colour, I added a splash of yellow and then more coffee-caramel, and got this gorgeous dark chocolate brown.

I use coffee brown and a bit of black for Hot Fudge Brownie candles. I use liquids.

When I was going for a Hot Chocolate kind of color, I used mocha brown with a touch of coffee brown and a touch of yellow to give it a slightly "golden" cast because it was a bit too pinkish. Now I have figured out if I just use a bit more mocha straight up, it's about the same color. LOL Yes, I'm slllloooooooowwwwww....
