JannaBanana
Hi! I've seen a creator's wax melts that look painted on. As in, for example, the flowers are a different colour on the tip of the petals or for her anatomy hearts they are red and have black shadows on them. I have never coloured wax or made wax melts. But I got really curious. How do you achieve these effects?
TallTayl
I would try alcohol and mica.
Laura C
Hello @JannaBanana. I have played around with painting or coloring wax melts externally but I don't really care for the results that I got plus it's labor intensive. It's been awhile since I have done it but I think I like the mix of alcohol and mica the best but I couldn't get the colors very dark or concentrated. But, with that said, it certainly doesn't hurt to play around and experiment with new things. Now that you mention it, there are "chocolate transfer sheets" that may work on wax as well. I don't think I ever ordered any and tried it. Here's some links to additional info that may help you. Have fun experimenting! 👩🔬🔬🎨 You can do an internet search on "chocolate transfer sheets" for more info and here's a discussion about it here on Craft Server https://www.craftserver.com/topic/113814-chocolate-transfer-sheets/#comment-1078314 https://www.craftserver.com/topic/6305-what-kind-of-paint-to-use-on-candles/#comment-65960 https://www.craftserver.com/topic/113765-paint-for-wax-melts/#comment-1077794 https://www.craftserver.com/topic/113035-eyeballs-and-wachs-wax-paint/?tab=comments#comment-1068866
