karinz40
I just read this on the internet. A pinch of salt: Sprinkle a small pinch of salt into the melted wax. This can help slow down future burns and will stretch the life of your candle
birdcharm
I never heard of that before, I guess I'll have to try it to see.
TallTayl
I don’t know about salt in the candle, but wick treatments often include some sort of a salt. Initial thought is in that salt is water soluble not oil/wax soluble how would it even dissolve in your candle wax? many of us have put salt crystals on top of wax for decoration and they stay lumped so I’m not sure what it would do. Marisa11
When I was researching making fire starters with pine cones there were some people adding different things to change the color of the flame. Some of the stuff sounded almost dangerous. But one of them was salt. I have not come across anything about salt slowing down the burn. I have been testing with stearic acid with my little glass votive candles though. Do you have a link to the source?
