KMommy
I have only used beeswax as an additive but never made a candle out of just beeeswax. Is there a certain temp. for melting, temp. for adding FO, pouring... I haven't located much how to info. on the subject. Any suggestions? Kaybee23
If you can catch one of them Cetacea or HenryK both know a little about beeswax candles. I only know from reading that it is a very hot burning wax, I think that probably it is really only suitable for pillars.
Henryk
Here's some links in no specific order from a search on the board. You can probably find other ones also. Hope some of the info is helpful.http://www.candletech.com/cgi-local/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=Discussions;action=display;num=1102978910http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11252http://www.candletech.com/cgi-local/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=Discussions;action=display;num=1110084531http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9511http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10526http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3429Meltpoint for BW is ~143 to 151F, depending upon its components (BW differs in makeup). I pour at 175-185. Try not to heat over 185 because it can discolor the wax.

KMommy
Thanks for the info. When I did a search the results came up with information about using it as an additive. I guess I should have entered different info. in the search. Thanks for the help!
JudyN
Thanks for giving us all the info. Henry. I wasn't really interested in making BW candles until I saw your candles and read everything. I will add that to my list of things I want to try. Thanks again.
