Tony
I have finished making most of my holiday candles and I need to think about next year. I’m looking for a few fragrances and wondering if any of you have found suppliers that have these fragrances and absolutely love them! I currently use a paraffin soy blend and have very recently started to experiment with Coconut 82 wax. I would love to hear everyone’s favs! Nag Champa - I have found a few that are decent but they always seem to be missing something Neroli - I’ve tried a few but haven’t found one that I Love Sandalwood Rose - I really like the one from Pure Fragrance oils but wondering if there is one that’s even better Patchouli (or a Patchouli blend) - haven’t found one that I like yet Teakwood - Every time I ask about this one I get recommendations of Indonesian Teak. Those is smells great, it is as far as from the smell of real teakwood as you can get. It smells very powdery where Teak is a deep woodsy scent. Oud - I have spent much time is SE Asia and they burn Oud wood in the temples and smells amazing Rose - I was never a huge rose fan but have learned to really appreciate it. Looking for something that smells fresh and amazing not heavy and old ladyish. looking forward to hearing some great suggestions. Thank you in advance! CandleRush
I’ve used nag champa, patchouli, sandlewood rose and oud. IMO, none of them smell authentic enough. I’m so spoiled I guess. The patchoulis ive tried aren’t even close. The oud I Have is from nurture soap is ok but if you’ve smelled the real deal you may be disappointed. They are all very light with hot throw in my wax, lab co. Coconut wax and 464 blend. They may do better in paraffin. Maybe someone here has recommendations though. I’ll keep looking! Tony
Thank you for your response! Yes it is hard to find something that smells like the real deal. I was in India last year and found some awesome nag Champa incense and of course I can’t get them here LOL. That is actually where I found a new fondness for Rose as well. I hope I can find something kinda close LOL

Dreamer
I've used Nag Champa from SaveOnScents and thought it was pretty decent. I like that you can purchase "sniffie" samples from them really cheap, too. I'm not a fan of patchouli as a stand alone, so I can't assist you there, but if you're not opposed to designer types, Tom Ford Black Orchid Type from The Common Scents is a fabulous, unisex patchouli blend!! I believe SOS may have it as well, but I haven't sampled theirs so I can't review. I've heard that Fresh Cut Roses from Indigo is really good. I currently have a sample on it's way to me in the mail. ☺️

I have never ordered from The Common Scents, any other suggestions from there? I read the description for Fresh Cut Roses, sounds promising. Thank you for your suggestions! SOS has such a huge selection of oils, I'm like a kid at a playground there haha! They might just have some of the other oils you're seeking as well. The majority of oils from TCS are designer types, but they do have many single note oils in their "Traditional & Exotic" section. Back to Black by Kilian Type is good patchouli blend as well. The pricing is decent and they offer dram samples of all their oils. My fingers are crossed for Indigo's Rose oil! The reviews are very promising, indeed. Tony
Yes I love SOS as well. Have you used TCS oils in candles?

I've only used a few of their oils in lotions/perfumes for my friends & family that don't want to pay designer prices lol, so I wouldn't know specifics on using their oils for candles, although I would think it'd be fine. You could contact them and ask.
Dreamer
I forgot to mention that I received the Fresh Cut Roses sample from Indigo and the OOB bottle impression was great! Strong, with no perfume-y or "old lady" notes. Smells like sticking my face directly into a bouquet of fresh roses. Will definitely be using this one as a blender.
