It is also a mild surfactant with very good detergency and foaming power. It is produced from vegetable oils and is therefore readily biodegradable. Sarah S Posted September 9, 2019 Share Posted September 9, 2019 That is a surfactant and would not be useable in a lye soap recipe. If you are making a melt-and-pour soap you could probably add it. TallTayl Posted September 10, 2019 Share Posted September 10, 2019 You “could” use it as a soap additive, but then you’ll move from soap (which does not require special labeling) into cosmetics (which does require special labeling).
