bfroberts
I know this is the longest shot ever, but I am trying to find a replacement for New England Mist by Backwoods. I don't have a description, and I surely cannot describe it. But if anyone has any recommendations of a scent that would work as a "mist" scent or a "fog", I'm all ears. The rain scents I have (Spring Rain, China Rain, etc.) aren't even close.
Sarah S
Have you tried London Fog from RE? It's very hard to describe, but it does smell light and kind of foggy to me. Not like rain. Kind of a cologne type, but not in a choking way... it's really tough to pull out the notes in it, light and kind of damp is the best I can come up with. 1
Sebleo
https://www.lonestarcandlesupply.com/grey-dawn.html Grey Dawn came to mind. It is a lovely scent but like the reviewers say, it is very light.
bfroberts
I'm desperate. I'll order samples of both. Thank you!

Darbla
RE has something called Amazon Mist and from their description the first note is "dew" but there are others: https://rusticescentuals.com/Amazon-Mist.html When I was perusing their site yesterday I saw several that had watery, dewy type notes to them so it might not be a waste of time to read through all theirs. Here's one they call London Fog: https://rusticescentuals.com/London-Fog.html There was something called Lake Adventure, and a bunch of other watery things that might work for what you're looking for. Good luck. Edited July 27, 2019 by Darbla typo

Good luck. Great minds think alike! I ordered all of the ones you mentioned plus 37 other samples during the sample sale. I ordered on Thursday and received them yesterday. None of them are like the New England Mist I was using, but I am gonna try London Fog in a few blends today to see what I can come up with. I especially liked Lake Adventure and Ancient Waters so will definitely be testing those in wax today too.
Sebleo
What did you think of the Grey Dawn @bfroberts?

Haven't gotten it in yet, but I'll let you know when I do. Took me forever to order because they had some tumblers that seriously turned my head, and it took a few days to talk myself out of that. As if I need another container that I can't wick. 😩

The Gray Dawn is nice, not exactly like what I was trying to replace, but I like it a lot. Test burn was kinda light, but I'll cure it a bit and see if the throw improves. Sebleo
@bfroberts sorry it wasn’t what you were looking for, but I’m glad you like it. Hopefully a longer cure will improve the throw. It didn’t work for me in palm- but I’m going to try it again in soy this time. I really like the scent.

I ordered every water scent RE carries during the sample sale and some other samples from here and there, and I'm in the process of testing. It'll take me a while cause I really went way overboard with the samples...LOL.
