Venetti
I've got yet another wick question. So, I'm testing more wicks and I'm back with more questions. I've read that you should get a full burn pool with the first burn. I've also read that getting a full burn pool with the first burn is a bad thing. I'm not sure which one to go by. The wicks I'm testing aren't giving me a full burn pool at all, but when they get further down in the jar they are melting off the excess wax on the sides. Thanks again in advance! i will post pictures when I get further into my test.

It really depends on the size of your container. My 5oz I get a full burn by the second burn. My 16oz depending on the scent, doesn't get a full burn until the 3rd or sometimes even the 4th burn, if I only burn them in the 3-4 hour specified burn times. What size are your candles? Sounds like they are okay, because as the candle burns down the jar will get hotter, which is why the excess wax is melting off. What you don't want is by the end of the jar, it being so hot that you cannot touch it without burning yourself.
