GoldieMN
I want to test wicks in flowerpot votive holders. Do I have to wait two weeks before lighting them in order to get accurate results? I'm using FOs that have worked for me in 464 using FOs (pint jars). Goldie
Candybee
For wick testing you can test it after it hardens. But to be accurate you should wait a few days. That gives the wax a chance to fully harden and crystalize. If you have every lit a candle that you poured the same day then try another one after 3 days you will be able to see the difference. A fully hardened candle burns different than one you poured the same day. I find 3 days about right for my wax. Cure time for fragranced candles can vary. But with soy it can be anywhere from 1 week to 4 weeks+. The average is about 2-3 weeks for many fragrances. Some take longer and some throw fantastic from day one. But first test your without any FO or other additives. You always want to get your wicking down before adding any other ingredient that could change the outcome of your test.
