Hey E, which ones do you have of theirs? TIA

I have the hinged 2 pounder. I never use the hinge aspect and rarely use the lid. Hubby made my 5 pounder, need to get him to make more! It's 4" across and as wide as my oven for CPOP.

i bought from there and i won't again. long story short ~ my mom ordered it as a gift for me, and they sent it to the wrong address - the billing address instead of the shipping address. since it was my parents, i asked them to just send it along to me to save hassle.

my dad said the box was in bad shape, he would repack it. after he opened it, he found that the mold itself was broken. a dowel that held it together had snapped and some of the glue did not hold. i asked him to just send it to me as it was, i would take care of it. i would definately say something about this, since i obviously couldn't use a mold without sides.

i was nice, i expected her to offer to exchange it. INSTEAD she said she didn't understand how that could happen, the molds are made too well. i definately got the feeling she didn't believe me. i responded, offering to send pictures if she would like. she in turn said that would not help her, she would need to see the mold, and again insisted that she could see no way the mold could break, everyone tells her how great she packs her orders. in the end, she offered to let me ship it back to her at my expense and then pay to have another shipped back to me. that's 3 shipping charges (and not cheap, i might add) for one mold. no thanks. 4 if you count the shipping i had to pay from my parents to me.

sorry, im still a little upset about this. good to hear that others have ordered from there with no problems, maybe mine was just an isolated incident.

What do you use for a cover? I was just at Target a while ago, wish I would have seen this earlier.

I plan on doing CPOP with this mold so I will cover it with Saran Wrap.

If you were doing CP, you could do the same and then cover it with towels.

I am thinking of getting some sheets of florist foam from Walmart and cutting it to the size of the mold to put directly on top of the plastic wrap to insulate the mold better before it gets put to bed. I'll post my results when I do.

I got two of the molds from the place e posted. I like them. The first time I used the slab mold I was sure I wouldn't like the hinged sides. I found that I really like the hinged sides. The prices are good. I am going to Target tomorrow to see if they have the drawer organizers there. It's 40 miles from here, so I guess I better go to macy's, costco, olive garden, kmart etc while I'm there. Darn it!

I got the 1lb mold from them just to do test batches...I think they sent me the wrong one. It held a tad over 2lbs of soap. I personally didnt like it because the pegs were not in there good.

Honestly for a log mold you CAN NOT go wrong with Southern Belle molds. They have an ebay store.

I have the 5lb mold from this company. Shipping was a bit slow and the sides don't exacly line when using the hinges. Other than that, there is nothing wrong and the uneven hinges doesn't affect my soap. I have a lid for mine but do use saran wrap to cover - even when doing CPOP. :) This is the mold I use most often. My other log mold is from Southern Belle and the quality of that mold is outstanding. I just wish I had bought larger than a 2 lb one.

I went to Target yesterday. No nice wooden soap molds (organizers), lots of plastic ones.

I did get my son a couple pairs of school shoes. I just love the shoe styles and the prices of the little kid shoes there. They are nice leather, nice styles. I hate shoes at walmart, all plasticy etc. A little OT, but oh well.
