mzphee
I make my own lip balm base and normally I make just enough to use. But this time I made way to much and would like to store it. I use just butters and oils .. And a small ant of stevia... How would I store this I have it in a 8oz jelly jar for now... Any help please
SuzyK
I make 3-4lbs at a time now since I make so much lip balm. It's nice not to have to make a new batch each time. I do the same for my solid lotion base that I make. For one I use a loaf mold that's made for soap and just cover it with plastic. The other I use an old tupperware thing that I found at the goodwill (i cleaned it out really well) that I think is called a celery keeper. I wish I had more of those, they are the best and come with a lid. I can take a pic of them if you need me to. MaggieMay
I make a whole lot of lip balm, I divided it up into 6 oz plastic containers with a tight fitting lid write date on the top and then freeze.I take out what I need for an order, then throw back in the freezer.. SuzyK
Ok. Here are the pics. Sorry it took me a couple of days. The green one is my lip balm base that I make from scratch and the other is my solid lotion, also made from scratch. It's so nice to make up big batches beforehand. I'd like to get even bigger ones so I can make like 10 lbs of each at a time since I go through them so fast. I like some of the buckets that some of my ingredients come in so I'll probably move to those eventually. I don't keep it in the fridge. CareBear
I pour it into clean (dishwasher clean) yogurt cups then once it's hardened I put it in a ziplock bag (with or without the yogurt cup).
chappy6107
Maggiemay - how long do yours keep in freezer? Suziek - how long do yours keep out of fridge? Carebear - do your refrigerate or freeze yours?
SuzyK
I don't ever have mine in the fridge. I sell a lot of lip balm so I have to make new batches quite often. The ingredients are good for about 2 years.
