Barbara AL
My husband bent a stainless steel rod for me the length of the mold and it stands out at the top so I can hold on to it.I rod is about three times thicker than a hanger. I believe he got it at Home Depot. These are some I poured like the tiger stripe and than put a rod in there and did the butterfly swirl.
chuck_35550
I think the hanger tool from Brambleberry may be the same thing as a gear tie. It is a straight coated rod that can be bent to fit any mold. It works quite well and was pretty cheap too. I like a chop stick for regular swirling. Candybee
I use the TT method for one of my soap recipes. It really comes in handy when I am doing soap demos. For soap demos it means I don't have to bring anything to heat my hard oils. Just let the lye melt the hard oils plus I like watching that awww moment that customers get on their faces when they see how the lye starts to heats things up!!
