Bumblebeebabe
I asked this in the candle making forum but they don't really use crock pots so I figured I needed to ask here. Did or do you notice a big increase in your bill when you make a lot of soap in month?
TallTayl
Are you hot processing? I CP using the heat of the lye solution to melt the hard oils, so i don't notice any change at all.

Did or do you notice a big increase in your bill when you make a lot of soap in month?I use a presto pot, heat gun and griddle for my candlemaking - way more electronics than in soapmaking. And really, unless I'm plugging in my dipping vats in the summer, I really never noticed much of a change. As with TallTayl, I rarely HP, and soap at RT so pretty much the only electricity I use while soapmaking is my stick-blender and that's negligible while calculating electricity... Faerywren
I HP about 75% of the soap I make and don't notice a difference in our power bill. I also have a wax pot going daily, as well, without significant increase.
