cnclair
We are making 25% paraffin (4630) and 75% soy (464) candles in apothecary jars both 8 and 1 ounce. I am trying to find the best wick. Any suggestions? I prefer not to double wick.
Guest OldGlory
Am I reading that correctly - apothecary jars in 8 oz and 1 oz sizes? What is the diameter of each jar?You would probably want to wick for the soy, but wick down a bit. I love the Premier wicks I buy from Aztec. You can buy a sample pack. For example, if your jar is 3" in diameter you might try a 750 VSP and a 767 VSP (for single pour and soy waxes). They come in all sizes. I've been using this wick in 464 for years and my clients' customers rave about my soy candles.

rjdaines
If those are 4 inch diameters, you could try 2 CD5 wicks.
Candle guy
I use 464 soy and have the 8oz apothecary jars with about 3 to 4 inch width. I am also seeking answers for wicking lol. My first test I used 2 eco 4'series but they burned too hot. My second test I used 2 eco 2's and it burned perfectly even and had amazing scent throw. Very slow burn and the jar did get hot after 3 hours or so but I'm guessing that's normal. The only thing that really worries me is the flames danced a lot without a draft in the room. My question is am I wicking correctly and is this normal?
Trappeur
If those are 4 inch diameters, you could try 2 CD5 wicks.Have a question Rjdaines.....how deep is your melt pool with those 2 cd 5's? Thanks. Trappeur
Barbara AL
May I suggest 2 CD 8's for that blend or 2 LX 16's one inch apart in the center of the jar.
