Private Label Essential Oil Blend Ideas?

MoonShadow

Recommended Posts

I landed a private label soap account today for a small boutique. They want a few (3-4) strong essential oil blends (No FO's) that conveys an "island" feel. I will probably do a lime and litsea blend, (doubt it will be very strong.) Besides citrus, anyone else have any ideas?

TIA!

Here are a couple that work well for me:

Ocean

3 parts cucumber f.o.

2 parts bergamot e.o.

1 part lavender e.o.

touch of peppermint e.o. (if desired)

Ocean Breeze

2 parts lavender e.o.

1 part rosemary e.o.

1part bergamot e.o.

touch of mint or eucalyptus e.o.

Mojito

2 parts lime

1 part spearmint

Orange, lemon and lime

Ylang Ylang, jasmine and orange with a touch of vanilla

Lemongrass, grapefruit, lime and cypress

Lime and lemongrass smell amazing!

I also used to use lemon just straight for a fresh lemon soap.

Lavender mixes with lots of oils.

I'd definitely do blends for a citrus; a floral with maybe Lavender and Bergamot; a wood; and a mint.

Also, spice blends are awesome in soap. Bay rum, clove, coriander, vanilla, cardaman, etc.

I haven't tried these yet, but found some blend ideas from different websites I wrote down in my notebook.

Lime and peppermint for a Mojito. Rosemary, Lemongrass, Lavender and a touch of Peppermint for an Ocean Breeze.

I'd go Lime and spearmint for a Mojito. A mojito has spearmint in it, not peppermint, at lease what I've had ... however, I bet a lime and peppermint combo would be interesting.

So I played with 4 themes; citrus, floral, woodsy and ocean, took 10 sniffies to them and from those, they settled on these three;

Jasmine Patchouli (floral)

Ylang Ylang, Patchouli, Cedarwood, Rosewood (Woodsy)

And Lime, Litsea, Peppermint and Bergamot (Citrus?)
