Blending GB 464 with IGI 4630 wax

BPP

Recommended Posts

I am experimenting...I am blending 25% 464 with 75% 4630.

6 oz. tin with 2.8 inch diameter.

No Dye/FO.

44-32z.

Has anyone blended these waxes with success?

What were your results?

What wick brand/sizes?

6 oz. tin with 2.8 inch diameter.

No Dye/FO.

HTP 73 didn't work that good. Wasn't even close to the edges after 3rd 3 hour test burn. It still had 1/4 inch hangup.

44-32z worked great!

I'm going to test CD 2.

I tried CD 2 and 3.

They were to small.

Since 44-32z had great results...it hit the edges on 3-4 3 hour test burns.

I could do a 44-28z?

I didn't have 44-28z.

So I went with 44-24z. It was way to small.

I'm sticking with 44-32z. And that's my final answer.

You're going to have to start with a CD 8 for a 2 inch container using soy wax. A CD 6 would be recommended for this diameter, but you would want to wick up using soy or one pour paraffin.

I'm using my own blend and its only 25% soy.

Zinc wicks worked the best for me.

I use HTP, CD, and ECO wicks with the 4630/464 blend depended on the container.

I now know what you mean by "depend on the container".

I'm testing 8 oz. tin with 3.1 inch diameter.

I started with HTP 83.

I figured since HTP 73 worked in 6 oz. tin an 83 would work in 8 oz. tin.

But no It did not.

Now I'm testing HTP 93.

Too soft for melts! Two container waxes. You can buy parasoy pillar wax and that’s what you want. If you really want to use the two waxes you will have to add stearic acid or candeillia, carnauba or beeswax to make it firmer and to shrink.
