angellie5 Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 I made some candles last week with 50/50 CS Very Vanilla and Hazelnut Coffee and the vanilla was too overpowering and I got very little coffee. Was going to try 25/75 tonight, but wanted to check if I should go even less on the vanilla. A splash? Or leave the Hazelnut Coffee alone LOL? TIA! Quote
rctfavr3 Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 HC alone. Use the VV for another blend! HC is sweet enough IMHO. Too sweet and it takes away the realism of the scent. Quote
blacktieaffair Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 Ditto ! I think there's a hint of Vanilla in the HC anyway so I've never mixed it... Plus, I just love my VV SOOOO much, I'm hard pressed to add it to anything LOL Quote
HorseScentS Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 HC alone. Use the VV for another blend! HC is sweet enough IMHO. Too sweet and it takes away the realism of the scent.I agree! If anything, the CS HC could use a tiny bit more coffee scent in it because it's already very sweet and creamy. Quote
rctfavr3 Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Something else you might could try is to add a little almond fragrance. It will heighten the coffee scent and add a note reminiscent to biscottis and other baked coffeeshop goodies. Quote
dnj Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 I mix in CS Vanilla Hazelnut with CS Hazelnut Coffee and imo it makes a nice rich creamy scent. I started doing it this year and since then have sold much more than I did when using HC by itself. To my nose it smells of too much coffee and not enough hazelnut but it sure is a great thrower in 6006 wax.Mocha and almond are both great ideas..sounds yummm Quote
