  1. Has any one come across a good strong FO that really smells like strawberry milkshake?
  2. Could someone clue me in on the burn difference between the Classic - Apothecary Jar 4 Inch in Diameter which is very thin - and the country comfort jar. Is the country comfort jar thicker than the classic apothecary jar? I am using 6006 wax. I would like to use just one wick if possible.
  3. Currently, I am using Premiers w/ 8% FO Load. The Mac Apple, I had used 6%, but with a CD Wick, and got a burnt smell. I am getting ready to make CS's Banana Nut Bread / Hansel and Gretel's house, Peaks - Harvest Moon, and AH/RE's Welcome Home at 6%. Hopefully these all are great throwers at 6%. I also have - which I hope none are duds: Peaks: Sugar Cookie Stargazer Lily - Love this OOB. German Chocolate Cake Sweet Pumpkin Spice Juicy Pineapple, Sweet Mango Delight Birthday Cake Autumn Walk Coconut Milk Apple Jack and Peel Pear Spice -(This has the box it was delivered in Lit Up) Blueberry Muffin CandleScience: Pumpkin Pie Pumpkin Souffle ( The previously gave me a burnt smell with CD wick. I remember gagging somewhat.) Red Hot Cinnamon Lemon Verbena Orange and Gogi Berry Driftwood Mango and Tangerine Blood Orange Chardonnay Strudel and Spice Cotton Candy Black Sea - Love this. Would like to use this in Soap. Hazelnut Coffee Frankincense and Myrrh
  4. So... I took a venture to the IGI Page to look at the recommended Scent Load for 6006. And it gives an 8 - 10% Range. The wax I purchased says- up to 10%. I currently am testing with 8% - The burn is good - so far, (Keeping my fingers crossed) and the throw is nice and strong. The scent is "Botanical Orchard and Nectar". - My question is.. for you all that use 6006, for most scents, do you stick with the 6% or do you stay within the 8% range? I had tried CS's Mac Apple before at 6% in 6006, but there was a Burnt type of smell going on. But at 8%- the mac apple throw can not be compared to. So what are your thoughts or suggestions?
  5. Hello..I am moving to begin testing another jar type - the dodecagon jar. The straight sided jars are giving me a run for my money!! Anyway, can someone recommend a wick size - the Jar is about 3 inches in diameter. I am thinking an HTP 93. Any help would be appreciated.Thanks.
  6. Ok- So I am getting back around to testing soy candles and am shaking my head a bit. - My current situation is 464 soy wax. Jar - is a 12 oz. Status Jar - 3 inches in Diameter. Wick = cotton wick and looking back over old notes, I have experienced the tall flame with CD's and Ecos also. Scents ranges from 6 - 9 percent. At about 3-4 hours, can someone tell me why the flame gets soo high? This to me is dangerous - especially if some would burn the candle all day long. Is there something I can add to 464 to help bring the flame down to a decent size?
  7. Just a Quick Question.- For dessert candles, using 6006, does anyone have recommendations for making the Whipped topping? Should I whip the 6006 or would you recommend using another type of wax? TIA
  8. Does anyone know where I can get strong Blueberry Pie or Cobbler, Apple Pie, or Cherry Pie scent that is gel safe? TIA.
  9. Ok - I have some 4794. - I will be using container wax to make the candle. Thanks.
  10. I ordered a pie topper mold. Are these pie crust tops expected to melt into the rest of the wax when burning? I am not sure if I should be using the 140 Degree or 160 Degree Melt Point wax for the pie toppers. - Also does anyone know what is used to pour the wax into the small blueberry mold holes? The mold seemed larger in the photo, but it is small. I didn't even think of it when I ordered the mold. TIA
  11. Ok- thanks for your help!! At least I do have an idea where to start. As far as the cinnamon buns, were they separately made or did you blend the 1343 and PB? Also for the Glossy Drizzle, what is the best density for the gel wax?
  12. Could someone lead me in the direction for which wax to use for standard muffin or cupcake silicone type molds? One place recommended. Igi 6028, another Igi 4625 and 1343. I am hoping someone that makes these or have made these could lead me in the right direction. I will also make little cinnnamon buns with the icing drizzled _- if someone could lead me in the direction so I can make the icing also.I need to test for a funtion I will need them for in a few months. Any help I will appreciate!! Thanks.
  13. Does anyone have a suggested wick for 6006 and 4630 in the 8 oz. Tin? I will be testing these waxes seperately. I have LX, HTP, Zincs and CD. Thx.
  14. If I use a premier wick in the status jar , which is 3 inches, any idea where I would start?
  15. I am still testing 464 blends. Currently I have a 50/50 blend with 4630. Not sure if I should add more soy or more paraffin. For the status jar, I dont think I like the 50/50 blend because the jar gets black on the one side from the flame. I think I will shoot for a 70/30 blend - one with soy in the lead, and one with paraffin in the lead and see if I like the one over the other. The status jar is the 12 oz. with 3 inch Diameter.
  16. Sorry- blending with 4630. - Will the flame tame its self if it continues? I was using an HTP 1212. The flame grew pretty high and needed to be trimmed before 3 hours - with a nice Liquid FMP of about 1/4 inch. I put in an HTP 126 which the flame was not as high, and a totally different type of Melt Pool - it just made it to the sides, but from the side view, it wasn't completely liquid. I will burn it again tomorrow continuing with the HTP 126. Got a Big Mushroom with the 126 that I did not have with the 1212.
  17. I am currently testing 464 straight and blended in the status jar. I was wondering is the Premier wicks a good choice in the status jar? I would like to get feedback before ordering the wicks. I am currently testing a blend with HTP Wicks and Straight 464 with ECO. If I could get some advise before I place the order I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
  18. I recently did a 50/50 blend using 464. All was well until it reached the 1/2 way mark, then the flame got really high at 2 - 3 hours and I needed to trim. I decreased the wick size, and the flame isnt as tall, but I don't reach a FMP as quick. My question is in order to rectify the tall flame and still get a good size FMP, should I add more soy or paraffin? I am using the 12 oz. status jar. Thanks
  19. Ok - for the Zinc, would the blend need to be more on the paraffin side to use the zinc? I do have CD wicks which I will try. I currently am using HTP. The FO load is 6-7%, but I am getting tall flames at 3 hours.
