  1. Same here! I wanted to make soap so bad the last few days but i started getting dizzy. Dr said upper respiratory infection and fluid behind my ears was causing the dizziness. I got a steroid shot and zpac but I'm still dizzy. So I didn't make soap this weekend ? I did get stuff packaged though. ?
  2. Oh boy!! That's sucks but I'm glad it wasn't worse!!
  3. Ok here's the clear confetti. I like it much better.
  4. Thanks everyone! I'll try the clear confetti and see how it looks. I think it will be better too. ?
  5. Usually I get OO from Sams and I've never had an issue with it. I've also bought from Soapers choice.
  6. Finally decided on my packaging for the Valentine's Cakes but I need opinions please. I haven't even started on the labels yet!! I have no clue where I'm going to place them yet! ? Anyway, I love the square box for the big cakes slices like they are and wick stickums work great for attaching the slices to the bottom of the box. Thankfully I have lots of them. I used a shrink wrap band to wrap the soap and wick stickums to stick it to the cardboard cutouts that fit in the bottom of the boxes. Then I also used them to attach the cutout to the bottom of the box so it could be turned upside down and the cakes not move around. I also did this to the little round ones. I have some really pretty paper books and I think I'm going to get some two-sided sticker paper and do something to cover the stickums on the bottom of the box. Hmmmm?? Then maybe put the label on top of that pretty paper. What do you think?? Also!! I love ❤️ the little round ones!! But I can't decide if I like the confetti in them or not. What do y'all think?? Where would you put the label on them??
  7. Thank you!! If you could do candles like this, which I'm sure someone can (not me!) ha! I would probably make more candles. ?
  8. It turned out great!! It is not soft and lather is great for facial cleansing. I do use Sodium Lactate in all my soaps. It really does help harden them up.
  9. Thanks!! I use lard in all my soaps around 30% ?
  10. Yes, Russian piping tips!! I have a love hate relationship with them!! ?Dad's Garden is a Nurture Soap FO and all the colors are Nurture Soap Micas. I mix my colors with a little olive oil to hydrate them but I've also just used the powder straight into the soap. I like mixing with oil because I can usually just hand stir it in with out using the stick blender. I've never had any issues with their Micas. There are a couple that change color but always turn back after a few hours. I love this soap!! Thank y'all!! ?
  11. In the mold this morning!! Lots of time to play with this one. Can't wait to cut it!!
  12. No, just a drop swirl then I used my hanger tool to swirl them. Thanks!!
  13. Here's the So White rebatch. I really like it. ?
  14. Thanks!! I think they both just accelerate quickly and get too hot. It's almost like they try to separate a little. I think Yuzu will be ok but So White is going in the crockpot when I get home. ?
  15. Here's the cuts. I did have oil pockets in the So White and the Yuzu Cocoa was a little oily but no oil pockets. I will let them gel in the pot next time before molding and see how that works. I definitely got carried away with colloidal oatmeal in the Barbershop soap. Lol.
  16. Thank yall!! Yes, Rice Fower & Shea is floral but not a strong floral to me. The roses are actually little paper flowers I've had forever and thought the top on that one needed something so my first time using paper flowers.
  17. Not really testing when your making 5lb batches. ? I made Backwoods Macintosh Apple and it smells so good!! No issues at all and the soap batter had set for probably a good 20mins since it was my 2nd of a split batch. So awesome!! I also made Backwoods Rice Flower & Shea with no issues. It gets nice and thick for some great swirls but not too thick to pour. Smells good!! Then things went downhill from there. I have several Nurture Soap fragrances to test out. Last night I made Tramp and it turned out very nice and smells awesome for a Patchouli type scent. But tonight I tried So White and Yuzu Cocoa. You might remember me trying Yuzu Cocoa before when I ended up making those little owl cakes. It's set up fast and I unmolded it in 2 hrs. Anyway, I wanted to give it a shot again and only use one color so I could get it in the mold quickly. Interestingly enough, it did not accelerate this time. Hmmmm?? but it got very hot and I had a tiny amount of oil on top after a while. So I'll have to see how it turns out. The So White turned the prettiest orange sherbet orange when I added it to my soap. I took a pic and just like that it was nearly seizing on me. It was very grainy but I got it in the mold. It's ugly since it has a flat top but nothing I could do with it. It is now white again though but has a small amount of oil on top also. The oil looks like it is absorbing but no telling what's on the inside of either of these. I had to uncover them because they both get very hot. So it's wait and see now. ?
  18. Exactly!! These craft beers are higher in alcohol content. I've made it without boiling and it moves quicker than I like so I just started boiling them all. Oh oh and the 50 Shades is a fresh goats milk soap not a beer soap. ?
  19. Oh man, I suck at describing fragrances. But yes WSP BR has a spicy note to me. I have note tried their Barbershop one. I use AHRE and have forever. I really like it. I've tried a few BR but WSP is my favorite. But it's very expensive ? I add Goats milk powder to my beer soaps just cuz I can. ?
  20. LOL!!!! Stripper Dust is a Vanilla Porter. Its my husbands fav beer. He goes to the Brewery every weekend just to get a couple of growlers filled. They are only open on Saturdays. I'm sorry I boiled the beer!!! Ha!! But I must boil the beer!! ?Local Yella is a Cream Ale and its scented with WSP Bay Rum. 50 Shades is actually The Perfect Man from NG and my most popular soap ever!! I use fresh goats milk in it always. Love your ramblings! ?
  21. Thanks! No, sadly the smell of the boiling beer does not come through. You can only smell the Hazelnut Coffee FO. Stripper Dust is made by a local Brewery in Abilene Texas. They give me beer and I make them soap. It's a great way to get my name out there. I had several people at my last Craftfair tell me they got my soap from the Brewery. ? So that's pretty cool!! ?
  22. CS Hazelnut Coffee ☕️ The actual beer has notes of coffee, chocolate and toffee. It smells delicious when I boil it. So that fragrance works very well with it. ?
  23. It's been a nice break but it's soap making time again!! New batches of Stripper Dust, Local Yella, 50 Shades and Barbershop 1920's in the mold today. Getting the Men soaps out of the way because I have several new fragrances I want to work on next. I'm excited!! ??? well Stripper Dust can go both ways. ?
