clueless

Hey everyone. Normally I have no trouble with this mold I have been using but for some reason I sure am today!! It's driving me mad. Nothing is wanting to come out and it's silicone. Would popping it in the freezer maybe help?? Or would it hurt my tarts?

I wanted to write and see if you could give me some tips on safely packaging bathbomb cupcakes. They are the mini ones. I don't want to chance them getting broken or crumbling up.

This is something I'm struggling with. I use the normal avery templates but all my labels just look cheap and I want a custom look. Something that will stay the same where all I would ever need to change would the fragrance type, and the maybe the size. I haven't a logo. I'm pretty new to all of this but have been messing with the labels for a week now with no real success and definitely nothing to brag about. Just very basic. I have tried multiple times to download avery design pro and have no luck whatsoever. Any tips or advice? I do have corel for a limited time, and its not user friendly at all.

I have ordered a lot of stuff from this supplier so far. Just placed 2 different orders with them this week. You do have to sort of shop around because sometimes other places will be cheaper. But for some reason just knowing I don't have to pay shipping makes me feel better. They have good product and I have been very happy with everything that I have ordered so far. IMO they have great prices on most of their items

Yep sure is messy. I make big messes when using my melt and pour. But as Stella said it's so easy to clean up! Just peels right out of the cups and washes up so easy. I was making some soaps last week ( now I'm pretty new to this ) and I actually got side tracked while microwaving my soap base and it burnt!!! Yep...it even turned brown. Was so yuk I just threw it away. Theres was no saving that mess. But in your case you should definitely be able to just pop in the microwave for 30 seconds, stir and microwave another 30 sec or so if needed. I have found that heating 30 seconds and stirring-heating 30 seconds and stirring really helps to keep it liquid form much longer and gives you more time do what you need before it hardens. But always keep materials on hand. I'm no expert by any means.....I'm just telling you this from my experiences HTH!!

Okay, so I went everywhere today in search of my loaf mold. Seriously, everywhere. I strolled into the mall after nearly giving up on finding one. But I figured I would try one last place. Dillards!!! Yes, Dillards. They had a loaf mold there for $10.00!! I was so happy to have found it. I was getting so aggravated. I too was trying to find citric acid...went everywhere. All the people I asked looked at me like I was "odd" asking for citric acid. Never found any. But so happy to have my loaf. I just wanted to share where I finally found one

Yeah I'm going first thing in the morning to try and hunt one down. I found little silicone molds during halloween at the Dollar Tree for a Dollar! Wow!! If you can find something like that at the dollar tree.......surely can find them somewhere else. JoAnn's website does have silicone molds so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a loaf mold. I didn't see any of those on the site, but that doesn't mean anything.

I know its the weirdest thing! I mean when it first came out it was everywhere! No it seems extremely hard to find the silicone in stores.

Thank you so much for sharing those places. I will be sure and check Jo Ann's as well as Michaels. I figured I would have found some great ones at Bed Bath and Beyond! But they didn't have a single silicone anything lol.

Hi everyone. So as you can tell I have molds on the mind. I'm writing to see if any of you could maybe point me in the right direction. I have been hunting for a silicone loaf mold. So far I have looked at Wal-mart, Target, And Bed Bath and Beyond. I have had no luck at any of those places. I do not want to order it online since I really really would like have it this weekend. I'm going to shopping with my Mama this weekend and wanted to find one so we can spend time together making soaps If you know where I can purchase a silicone loaf mold, in some major store..please let me know. I greatly appreciate everyones help here.

Hi everyone. I was the other day and found this cute tiny little rectangular mold. It's metal and is covered in the non stick surface. It was only $2.00 so I figured I would buy it. My question is are these a good use for m&p soap? Or will the soap just stick and be unable to release.

I let my first candle cure for almost a week. And it smelled amazing when I burned it. I'm a newbie here and still learning so much everyday, but I'm sure different FO and different waxes will differ!

The melt pool looks pretty good and I have been burning it 2 1/2 hours so far. The HT is amazing!! My house smells just like the fruit loops. I couldn't be happier. I'm going to use a taller container next time though. But for my first I'm happy

Hi everyone! So here is the candle I made last Thursday. I just started burning it about 30 minutes ago and so far this is how it looks. How do you all think it looks so far? Is it burning properly. I use 415 soy and I used a cotton wick. I'm going to step outside so I can clear my nose and see how the scent throw is.

ladies, I bought this tiny little soap kit ( melt and pour from hobby lobby ) and had a lot of fun messing around with it and making little soaps. I was so proud of my first soaps that I gave them to my mama! I really want to buy some melt and pour soap but haven't a clue where to get the best deals. I have been looking around and haven't had much luck. I wanted to try and make some soaps and candles for Christmas gifts this year. And I would like to purchase enough melt and pour to do this. 10lb 25lb? Please if you know a good place, with great prices and great quality let me know. Of course if you don't mind sharing. I have noticed the prices differ to extremes from place to place. But I cannot afford to spend a fortune. I just thought it would make nice Christmas gifts this year for my family and friends Instead of going out and buying something. I believe something handmade means so much more. With me just starting out with soaps I would hate to spend a fortune.

I started out with a soy candle making kit and love it! I have only made one batch of soy candles so far but hope to make some more this evening. I still have one candle to test out for the first time! It's so much fun and is definitely a learning process. Just have fun with it

I'm definitely making some soaps like these. So glad to have stumbled across them. They have so many cute things you can add atop of these soaps!!! Kids would go wild over them

Yay!! Thanks so much for all responses. I have been reading about that Eco pb. I do want to try some of that because I'm certain I will just love making these tarts. They are fun and easy and a joy to melt!!! I melted the fruit loop tart all day yesterday!!! And I was in such a good mood because my house smelled yummy. I never thought of adding little bits of paraffin wax to the soy to harden them. I may try that. It wouldn't need to be much at all I'm sure. I can't say how long they need to cure before testing because I jumped the gun on my fruit loop tarts. I made them 2 days ago and melted one yesterday!! I had 7 so I figured I wasn't hurting anything at all. The smell was so strong.

Definitely never said I wouldn't give it another try someday. I will someday. But for now I just wanna play around with me soy wax, beings I'm brand new to candles and the soy had turned out very pretty and clean looking, vs slimey and gross. I'm sure my buying cheap wax from HB was a bad idea and I should have known better. I may remelt the paraffin and try again soon. But I'm a very determined person and typically when I want to figure something out I obsess over it lol. So when I decide to give paraffin another whirl I will take all this info and jot notes, and redo. If my outcome is the same, I will buy a small amount of paraffin from a well known and trusted supplier and give it a whirl. If for some reason that does not work well for me then I would just assume stick to soy. Nothing wrong with someone finding their niche. I think thats a good thing. One doesn't have to master all things in candlemaking. But I do agree on atleast trying!
