She may have necrotic tissue that has to be removed or bacteria will grow. I would strive for a fragrance free cream, and yes, the socks are a good idea. I wish I had known about Emu - I would have probably tried it. I am so, so very sorry for her and the pain that she is in. I wish I could comfort her, and you, somehow. Stay vigilant.
