  1. Hello from italy everyone! Merry Christmas to all the friends on here!

I'm doing inventory of the FOs I have.

I discovered a bottle of NG Bay Rum, nobody likes it. I would try to rename it to make ppl think of something nice, but bay rum it's not a known scent here, and I don't know exactly the story and what it is (I've alwasy been compulsive in buying FOs).

Any suggestions for renaming it, or mixing with something else?

I also need some mixing ideas for cinnamon, nutmeg and red clove. I'm thinking to put them together and make a sort of "spice market" but if any of you has a better idea I'm all ears!

    Thanks in advance !

    santa wink

  2. Hello again, I did another show past weekend. Table was almost full, butI sold very few candles. I sold a lot of firestarters, air fresheners, some gift bags I made with a burner, tealight, and a clamshell ( a starter kit lol). Tall pillars are still unsold.

I didn't have the time to take a pic.

Someone stole a gift bag frmo my table and some bracelets from my friend's table.

Anyway I made 6x the booth fee.

I already had a lady calling me after buying two candles asking me if I had something ready, so she came to my home yesterday and bought 5 tumblers.

I booked for another one for this upcoming weekend but I don't think I'll go, cold is tremendous, show is about 35 miles from where I live, my husband can't drive, his mom will be recovered in hospital, his daughter is going to stay with us for the weekend.., my shop should be opened for the latest christmas gifts...too many things to put together.

I don't know how people can stand all that cold. there was a lot of humidity too!

  3. Thank everyone for your comments!

That show was free, the next are already booked and paid... and I don't have time to make candles, two friends of mine bought at the same time 17 pillars LOL I'm wondering what I can I do in three days... for saturday I'd have to set up the table.

I'd like to have a colored cloth to put on the table it seems to me that the white cloth "kills" the items. But organization told me to use white cloth. AHHH too many things to think of and no time! Because I also have to run my motorcycle garment shop!!!

Uhm yes it was cold, we were at 23F!!

  4. Thanks Judy! My table was not too full, I asked to my friend what she thought about it, she said it was ok so I let it that way. I had replacement for almost everything under the table.

Every suggestions is welcome! I am in a very busy period I have my husband at home after a motorcycle accident, so I can barely make the necessary. I didn't think a lot to decorations, signs and other things to spice up the table.

I didn't have so much fun because it was really cold.. and not so many people stopped by, so I didn't talk that much.

  5. Hello everyone, I finally did my first fair!

Cold was deadly.. Not many people, but in the end I made 250x my booth. It was free LOL!

I was there with a friend of mine, I decided to start with her but we are not so close so in the end I spent for gas travelling twice from home to fair.

15-16 and 22-23 december I booked for another fair this should be bigger , with fireworks and many other funny things so I hope I will do well.

Problem is (well not a really big problem) I sold 20 pillars this evening to a friend so I dont know if I can make some more to fill my table.

    Here are two pics.

    Thanks for looking!!

  6. at this point I really don't know if I will be doing shows.. my husband had a motorcycle accident on saturday. he already had one the past may and now the second.. until christmas he cannot move, he can walk but cant' move his right arm because he broke his right collarbone and one rib. so I work 8 hours a day, now I have to think about everything else and lost my helper.. really i don't know what I will be able to do!

  7. All the scents I use comes from your country (I'm italian), and I love them all, but to be honest.. I still have to find a real smelling coffee.

All the ones I tested have that yucky burnt smell.

The only coffee I use is from peak. I mean straight coffee.

I have a Vanilla Latte and another scent I can't remember the name, it has chocolate, coffee and vanilla, they both were bert's scents and no burnt smell.

  8. Hi Sabrina. It seems so odd you haven't done a show yet because I know you have been making gorgeous candles for years.

For craft shows during the Christmas season just make sure you bring lots of holiday scents. Don't know what sells in Italy but here in Virginia I sell lots of scents like Christmas Tree, Mistletoe, Cinnamon, Bayberry, Spicy Bakery types like Cinnamon Buns, Gingerbread, Brown Sugar & Cinnamon, Lavender sells year round, Cranberry, Pumpkin, Pomegranate, Apple Cinnamon, etc.

Have some gift type items with holiday packaging on it like bows, ribbons, tinkling bells, etc. I also bring a little holiday decor to spruce up my booth; red and gold tablecloths, holiday table runners, angels, snowman, etc.

    Have fun!!

Hi Candybee thanks for your kind words.

Shows are something I do not have the time to do, I work monday to saturday, 8 hours a day. Shows on sundays just consume the only day I have for me and my family, but this year I want to try and see what happens. It's a little sacrifice but job isn't going well so if I can make some extra money it will be ok.

What sells here in italy, who knows. My friend who will be with me at the shows with her stuff said she never saw a candle in all the shows she has done. As for scents, here people knows only vanilla, lavender, chocolate. These are the only scents in commercial candles. I'll see with my beloved scents to start some new trend!

Maybe I can pack some candle as gift, but wondering if people can still smell the scent!

  9. Hi all, I'm always taking pics on the run..

So this morning I took a pic with mi phone to some pillars I made. They are scented Bird of paradise, colors came out darker then what I expected but I like them somehow.

In the meanwhile hubby took the light tent and took some pics of the other candles I made, palm pillars scented White tea and ginger.

    I guess he wins. :rolleyes2

    Thanks for looking!
