Does it matter which type of wax you use? Would this be suitable for all the leftover waxes that we save for firestarters, which for me is mostly tart wax? That wax is already scented, then it could be scented a little more with an FO?
Agree. If you stick with one company, you're going to miss out on some good ones from so many other places. NG has some good ones. & some not-so-good, just like anywhere else. But their prices are excellent, imo. & the rewards don't do much for me, as I don't buy anything in massive quantities.
Yep, we're required to put the name, net wt, place of business, etc. It's listed in the links above. But, as I'm discovering, there are a lot of people who sell candles that don't put any of it, lol.
OR you could do like some local vendors here do- just slap a blank label on the jar & hand-write just the scent with an ink pen. That's it. Nothing else. Zip. Zilch.
This isn't the link, but here's some info: http://bittercreekcandle.blogspot.com/2010/10/weights-measures-product-labeling.html Here's Judy's link: http://www.ftc.gov/os/statutes/fpla/part500.shtm
"I found this article while I was deciding for myself. Sorry that it is littered with ads in between the copy. http://www.ehow.com/about_6165480_paraffin-vs_-soy.html" Wow, I was expecting a completely biased article, but this one is pretty good! Thanks for the link!
You might consider smaller batches since you're just testing. When I do a new FO in melts, I make enough for 2 portion cups & never do clamshells until I know if they work. That way I'm not wasting FO & wax. Just a thought. & the floatie thing to me just looks like the wax is starting to solidify.
It's easy to use, imo. It takes very little. I usually did it at night, then used the jars the next day. It was around $10 or so. I certainly never had a loose wick using it, lol.
