  1. Love the new slab mold, that's Awesome! I've been wanting a slab mold forever..I have 4 4lb. long wooden molds that come apart, and though I love them they're too narrow to achieve the swirlies and designs like I want. Hope you get a chance to post a pic of the cuts on your first soap. Great job!
  2. Great looking soaps Kelly! I use Warm vanilla oak from Millcreek and it sticks great, just not one of my best sellers, but a really nice fo imo. I really like the color combo and you did, suits the fragrance very nice:-)
  3. Great, was hoping it had more of the nectarine smell than vanilla, may have to give this one a try next time I order. happy to hear that it's not troublesome fo to soap, thanks !
  4. Jewls, let us know how you like it once you get a chance to try it out. I've heard some of it can be quite drying to the skin, but yours looks about the same color as mine, so it's probably good and mild. how much did it cost?
  5. Amen to that:-) now we're all going to be looking very closely for the Holy grail soap!
  6. DH sees siamese twins, lol
  7. See some strange things in soap sometimes.. I see a face in this bar do any of you?
  8. Awesome, love the color combo and spoon swirl! Amazing looking soap!
  9. I agree some cool looking swirls, really suits the fragrance name too, and colors look great together!
  10. Both soaps look Great! lovin' the swirls..how do you like the new vanilla bean nectarine fo? Wondering too if it's easy to soap, thought about ordering that one from Peak, but haven't tried it yet..
  11. Beautiful soap! Love the different shades of blue..Great job!
  12. Thanks, I feel alot better now after calling..
  13. I did call to make sure there wasn't a mix up, and gave them the code and was told that it is indeed coconut 76, and that it probably melted during shipping and that it isn't unusual for it to turn yellow when melted. I feel relieved now,lol..Soap didn't discolor , just cut it and turned out great so all's good:)
  14. no haven't called them, just noticed it last night and figured they were closed. I made soap with it and soap turned out fine so it should be okay.I only used it as 10 % of the recipe though and used palm kernal oil flakes as well.
  15. the one on the right is from my latest order last week, and yes it has melted. I had them on a shelf side by side. Strange isn't it that there's such a big difference in the color. I had been getting coc oil in 50 lb. buckets, but last 2 orders have gotten jugs.
  16. It helps make a harder bar of soap imo, and can cut sooner. I personally don't make soap without it. It helps to minimize shrinkage in bars and may help the bar last a bit longer in the shower.SL also makes for a smoother pour when making hp soap, makes it look more like cp. I really do like it and it doesn't take much. I add about 2 T per 4lb. batch and just mix it in with the lye water solution.
  17. I order my 76 degree coconut oil from Soapers Choice and it's always white, this time I got 3 7 lb. bottles that is yellowish in color. Have any of you received the yellowish kind before? Tia..
  18. Just cut a few slices...don't want to wait too long or they will crumble..
  19. just got through making the soap and I did stick blend the nuggets some as well. took a quick pic before placing in the oven to gel...
  20. Jewls, it really doesn't have much odor, just a natural cooked woody type of smell , and the texture of this is not hard. I'm making sea salt bars tonight and I crumpled the ABS into little bits, about 8 oz or so and set it aside in a bowl. I'm just going to incorporate into the oils at trace and mix it in good before I add the sea salt, should do well I think. I washed my face with a little clump of the ABS and I like it, lathers good too, and it didn't dry out my skin, so I think it will be a good addition and add to label appeal as well to those that have used this type of soap and are requesting it.
  21. I do the same as Barbara and Kitn on the super fatting .. All of my whisks utensils, crock pot, etc.. that I soap with are only for that purpose and no longer use it for food preparation.
  22. I just received my 10 lbs of African black soap nuggets from Soapers Choice. I've had customers asking for this stuff. It's kinda soft, brownish with some black spots, looks kind of like dog poo,lol.. washed my hands with it and it's not drying, I really don't see what all the fuss is about this type of soap as compared to cp after washing my hands with it, but I've heard a lot of good things about ABS in regards to treating acne, psoriasis, eczema, so I thought it would be a good additive to maybe add to my cp, especially salt bars and tea tree goat milk soaps maybe grate it up and add it at trace is what I had in mind? Let me know your thoughts or ideas how to go about using it. I also thought about maybe melting it in with my regular oils in my recipe and soaping as usual...tia...
