  1. Scented - how do you display them? Do you shrink wrap or just put out "au naturel". I have been shrink wrapping and putting in a clear box. I am thinking about putting in a bushel basket so they can be touched. I think they might sell better. I will probably still shrink wrap most of them and just have a few on top that are not wrapped - so they can be handled and smelled. Humm, still trying to decide. Suggestions welcome.

  2. I have basically used fragrance oil dupes at anywhere from 3% - 15%.

In perfumes, I have made my daughter several different ones, including Pink sugar (peaks), warm vanilla sugar, be enchanted, Bombshell, and a few others. I love Goddess (SG) for me. I thought Goddess faded too fast - and then my 13 yr old daughter told me (unprompted) that she loves my perfumes but they don't stay on very long. I will try some cyclo and see if we notice a difference.

Room sprays - I keep attempting this but get discouraged. The sc***tsy room sprays are way better and last way longer. I even got a few of the same sc**tsy dupes from SOS so I could compare apples to apples. I'll just keep trying - maybe. :)

    Thanks for the input!

  3. In the past year I have been making roll on perfume and room sprays. They don't have the staying power of commercial perfumes and room sprays. Is there a secret ingredient that helps with that? I have seen "Aromafix" type products to help fragrance. Wondering if that will help? Does anyone have any secret ingredients or tricks to share that will help.

I have been using FCO and FO for perfume.

I have also tried a 3 or 4 room spray recipes and the room spray base from Catalina Essentials. But the scents fades so fast.

    Thanks.

  4. I soap using 30% - 40% tallow. The creamy lather can not be imitated in any veggie recipe I've tried. I have never noticed dryness. My skin is always silky smooth. In fact, I shave with it everyday. I do use Shea butter and 30% olive oil for conditioning. Its a killer bar or soap!!!

  5. Love, love, love MMS! My favorites from them: Spiced Gingerbread, Coconut Lemongrass, Hydrogen, Welcome Home. Their Angel and Coolwater are also very nice. Cotton candy and Brown sugar spice are both good. I have not been disappointed with them!! You will pay a bit more, but the scents are very nice and upscale, IMO.

  6. All this talk of fall scents and gingerbread and I was inspired to pull out my wax. I just made 6 small batches of tarts:

    Gingerbread House (blend mentioned above)

Buttery Pumpkin (a blend of Great Pumpkin and a non spicy buttery pumpkin type)

Pumpkin Maple (Great Pumpkin & Vermont Maple Syrup)

Holidazzle - I call it Smoky Mountain Berries

    Pumpkin Ginger Streusel

Caramel Apple Latte - Caramel Apple Pie blended with Brewed Coffee

Yum!! Yum!!! Fall is my favorite time of year. Maybe it's because of all the delicious smells that come that time of year!

  7. Oh goodness!!! I only got through half of that interview. A bunch of nonsense. I think news organizations should perform some due diligence when they have whack jobs come on. Really, diesel fuel and second hand smoke.

I think I need to go on that show and state that when using my candles - it is just like running a marathon. So good for you!!!! I could back if up with some research and studies I just make up. :) Oh - and my soap cures all kinds of cancer! How do I know this? -because I say it so.

  8. anyone interested in testing

I put a FB post on a local Mom's swap and share group page. I mentioned that I was looking for wax melt testers. I had plenty of interested applicants, and had about 12 testers within three days. I'm finding that opinions about scents are so subjective, but I'm loving the feedback from people that are not friends and family. I feel it has been more honest.

  9. Here's a few I'm planning on:

Gingerbread from MMS - so good and unlike any other I've tried. I think I will mix this with pumpkin and see how it does.

Christmas Hearth from CS - I put a dash of peppermint in it and Call it Christmas Cabin. Could not keep this in stock. I sell it without peppermint rest of the year and call it rustic cabin. Still sells well.

Honey pumpkin chai from Peaks - think I'll give this a go this fall. Love it and had some testers really like it.

  10. I use them and have had no major problems. The only thing that I don't like is that they can be a little tough to open. After you open and close them a few times, they loosen up. It is a little hassle, but for the cost savings, it is worth it. IMO.
