  1. Yes, you can make liquid or cream soap using koh (postassium hydroxide). There are also suppliers that make a liquid soap base that you can add additives and FO/eo to. (I'm assuming you are referring to the liquid anti-bacterial soap made at b&bw.):) Oh, and I also agree that all soap "should" be anti-bacterial. - I think anti-bacterial is a phrase that has been over used and really doesn't mean much, IMO.

  2. I use so many FOs suppliers, it's not funny. Right now, I am loving Fillmore Container's FOs. I've only tested a few, but they have all been great. My favorite fo suppliers are MMS (Majestic Mountain Sage), Backwoods, and Peaks. I also like a few from The Candle Source and Candle Science. Oh, and I'm really starting to like Pure Fragrance Oil, too. The list could go on. Not sure I'm much help here. :)

Flair- just a word of warning - you might want to stop yourself before you go looking at other suppliers. Addiction will follow!!! And you will find yourself trying every supplier you hear about, just to make sure you are not missing out on something. :) it's terrible, but fun. :)

  3. I rarely order from CS anymore. Just a few FOs. I was excited to hear about their western location that opened in my state. I thought it would be an advantage, but I am finding that I can get all my wax and jars from Peak cheaper. CS shipping from 6 hours away is always considerably more than Peak - that is a few states away. It's very curious!! Oh, and not to mention sales tax is a real bummer. That's not CS's fault, but 8.2% increase to my order stinks!!! (I know -I should send them a tax exempt form - wonder if that would be a big hassle with them)

  4. Just started burning Nutmeg Ginger in a tart. It is dynamite! I hope it will last for my 10-12 hr. minimum. Fingers crossed. Tempted to add a dash of pumpkin to this and call it Pumpkin Chai or Pumpkin soufflé or... I think it will sell better with pumpkin in the name. At this time of year, people around here love their pumpkin scents!

  5. Started burning Citrus Spruce (tart) a few hours ago! To die for - strong and wonderful. I'll have to see how long it lasts. I'm fairly sure the pine/balsam notes are the same as what is used in their Christmas Tree. It just has an added splash of sweet citrus. To my nose it is divine. My favorite pine to date!!! In love!!!

  6. Just got my package!!! They all smell yum, OOB. My favorites OOB are nutmeg ginger and citrus spruce. Pumpkin Spice Chutney smells very fruity (mango) to me - I do not think pumpkin when I smell it OOB. Will get them all in wax sometime today. Hoping Citrus Spruce stays similar to what I smell in bottle.

  7. Hum, lots of good ideas here. It basically comes down to sales, sales, sales!!! Just like in any business, it is the marketing and sales that create success. That's bad news for me, :) because I'd rather make, make, make ! :)

  8. Hi. I use 3022 in my tarts and love it. I've still not mastered candles - too many other distractions. :)

But, You can do a search on Clarus 3022 and check out Chuck 35550 posts. He has been making candles with 3022 for years. He has been very generous with his methods and techniques on making candles with 3022. He would be a great resource for you. Good luck!!

  9. Thanks for the feedback and Yes, that Is a $29 pr month site. Big Commerce had website templates you could purchase from $100 to $500 - but I just used a free one and it turned out fine, IMO. We all know we don't need to spend extra. :)

I have only had a few website orders, thus far, but I have had a lot of indirect sales from it. I also just got into a craft show that was full. After I sent her to my website, she found a spot for me in the show. Kinda cool. So far my website has been worth it.

  10. Well, I just got a notice that UPS had a shipment delay. I have to wait until Friday now. :angry2: Grrrr!  It should be illegal to take more than 2 days to get here. I'm dying here!

Oh, and Old Glory, I'll send you an ounce or two if you want to give it a try. So you won't be so cranky!!! :) Kidding about cranky, but totally serious about sending you some.

  11. Not a straight cinnamon, but soapsupplies.net has a pumpkin spice that smells very cinnamony to me. It sticks like crazy and Since I can't smell the pumpkin, I call it "Spiced". My best seller last winter! Oh, and I have had no reports of skin sensitivity from customers.

  12. Love, love, love Photoshop!!! Once you learn , you can do photo editing, digital scrapbooking, labels for products, brochures, etc.... I do all my labeling and marketing material myself - and have gotten pretty darn good at it. (If I do say so myself) It's really worth the time and $ investment.
