  1. Does anyone here play comment games or participate in giveaways? I'm just curious how it has worked out for you in terms of sales. Right now I'm in a giveaway on fb which generated over 400 fans for my page in less than a week. I'm happy to have the new fans but now that I'm thinking about it they only liked my page to win my prize in that giveaway (because its a requirement)... so who's to say they'll stay if they don't win or better yet BUY anything if their only looking for freebies? :tiptoe: How do you get and keep genuine fans on fb?
  2. Sounds interesting... Let me know how you like it! I think I wanna try .. Says it throws well in soy. Hmmm.. I don't know why I wouldn't think so.
  3. AINT THAT THE TRUTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lol... I love how you put things Stella.
  4. What's a scam? The soy or the person selling the soy? There's a difference. And what are the "benefits" of any wax? Really the whole debate is ridiculous. False/ Misleading claims are all scams. Everytime you turn on the television something is false or misleading. Doesn't make it right... but who can change it?
  5. I was taught that in elementary Lol.. still doesn't mean people won't do it. Why would you be "turned off" to soy because of what other people do and say? YOu don't have to do it. Some people are probably ignorant to the "facts" and genuinely don't know any better... not saying that they shouldn't have done their own research beforehand but as far as BASHING I've see it on both sides of the fence and it's UUUUUGGGLY. Lol.. I'm an independent on the issue because like I said earlier, you can't change what people think they know and already believe (most of the time) so I could give a rats tail what anybody says on their website... I prefer to focus on making beautiful, safe, sell-themselves-without-all-the-facts candles. And when somebody asks.. I'll tell them what I've learned to be true... without bashing of course.
  6. Here we gooooo.... It doesn't matter. People are gonna say what they wanna say to sell THEIR product. Not you, me, or anybody could change that so there's no point in caring who puts what on their site. There's so much FALSE advertisement/ facts in all industry's... It's my personal choice not to go that route but many people don't care as long as they just sell something. And soy does frost so I wouldn't call that ABnormal...
  7. I like most of the above answers. If I were a customer and you were bad-mouthing the other guy, I wouldn't like him but I'd be turned off from purchasing from you too... no matter how good your product is. A lot of people steer clear of negativity. Don't let it consume you, karma will take care of him.
  8. Good point. And when you do add labor, couldn't this differ for everybody? Or is there some sort of rule of thumb?
  9. I bought both CS liquid dye and Lonestar's. I liked Lonestar's packaging better but they both work the same to me and are easy to work with.
  10. I vote Sheeran Handbag! I thought for sure more people would have commented on this lovely bag by now but the boards are pretty quiet.. Maybe because of the maintenance break we had???
  11. Isn't it great! I just finished transferring everything over to weebly and I bought my domain name with godaddy too. Unfortunately vistaprint made me pay $19.99 to "release" the domain name or else they would have had it on lock until January of next year. Even godaddy found it odd that they would charge for such a thing. Ugh.. but at least it's over and done with and my new site is FREE and 10X BETTER!!
  12. I LOVE your handbag! I was looking for something just like it to carry my personal things to a craft fair. The handle looks so comfy and the inside is spacious wth just enough pockets. I wish you were selling these now because I'm looking for one and the colors are perfect. I've been scouring through etsy trying to find a bag just like this. Good job! Let us know when you start selling them!
  13. Good idea! If anyone has it can you send it to me please?! lsruffin09@yahoo.com
  14. Sorry I read your post earlier but didn't know how to answer because I, myself haven't done the math on clamshells... BUT going off others wholesale prices I've seen... $2.50 sounds about right. :smiley2: I personally wouldn't go higher because I would want to guarantee I get that account! Lol.. You will get your name out there AND make a profit even if it's not as much as you'd like. Good luck!
  15. Aztec has candlemaking workshops but they are further out, in TN.
  16. As always when I find a great deal or special news I like to share it! If you need custom-made business cards, thank you cards (to go out with packages), or even a logo (she designed mine!) check out her fb page. Her prices are great. She is a crafter like the rest of us, not a big business. She's trying to reach 555 fans so like her page if interested and join the contest! http://www.facebook.com/kraftsgalore1 And no I don't know her personally.. just trying to help out another small biz
  17. Ok I found it at CS.. hmm.. never even checked there. Does this wax come in slab form or is it flakes like soy? I'm thinking about trying some tarts out with the pillar blend... see if it throws any better.
  18. Which brings me to another question. Where can I find this palm wax?? I've seen a couple of suppliers discontinue it. I do love the way it looks but have never worked with it and was concerned after seeing CS's explanation of why they don't carry it. I don't want to try it and then can't find it anywhere in the future.
  19. Definitely not for HT since 464 is better with that imo. I use it to mainly help with frosting and sink holes, craters (aka the ugly qualities of 464).
